AMERICAN DREAM MACHINE is an Alternative Rock band from the USA. These guys are professionals and they just came up with a new album "Deadhearts" and that is what we are going to talk about. Their first song is "Dead" and it starts directly: vocals, guitars, bass and drums as soon as you press "play". The vocals are pretty good, and they alternate between growling and clean vocals, which gave the songs more dynamic and possibilities as well. The chorus is pretty good, and the instrumental is nice as well.
"Bad News" starts out with a very nice melody created by the guitar and followed by some nice guitar riffs. It reminded me of AVENGED SEVENFOLD and I believe that the fans from that band will enjoy it. This song seems to be more commercial and the one that would play on the radio, but it has good melodies. "New Apocalypse" feels different from the songs and even reminded me of GREEN DAY kind of guitar riffs and the vocal lines. This band seems to mix a lot of different influences on their sound, but without losing their own identity, which is something good. This song sounds pretty emo though.
"Still Breathing" starts out with an electronic drum beat and some guitars on it, but it soon turns into something heavier with real drums and nice guitar, bass and vocal sound. "Tomorrow" starts out with deeper vocals and a simple but kind of heavy guitar riff. It soon creates place for the bass to come and it has one of the coolest bass sounds on the album. This could easily be a Pop song. "Virginia", "Seraphim" and "Back to Life" are a nice triad and they complete the line-up of the songs in a good way. "Trapped Under You" have some electronic vibes on it and I liked as it is different from many of the other songs, but it still has their identity.
"Heart" is the song that ends the album and it start out soft with clean vocals and a very melodic guitar work, until it turns into something heavier and then it goes back to the soft vibe that made it. AMERICAN DREAM MACHINE have written and released a great album for the fans of that genre of Rock. The instrumentals were well written and recorded and the vocals pretty good as well. The album is dynamic and even if you are not a fan from the genre, you will enjoy and will not be bored listening to it.
