Cassiopea
Alchemical Wake

ALCHEMICAL WAKE is two very talented individuals from Italy, the band was founded in 2012, I'm not going to pretend that I know a lot about Doom Metal but they seem to sound a lot like BLACK SABBATH musically with the vocal undertones that are similar to DANZIG, "Cassiopea" is there four song EP recently released.
"Libra" begins with alienist type of sound effects that quickly break away into heavy and dark guitars supported nicely by Francesco Manca's drumming skills, I never got the term Stoner Metal but this is definitely something you might want to fire up a joint too and enjoy the ride. "Noctua" seems to carry on from the first song left off with pretty entertaining drums that seems to be supported by Nicolla Marcuse's extorted guitars, It may be a touch heavier, I actually enjoyed this song more, personally.
"Orion" has an intro that lets your anticipation build up for what's to come and it leads you into something you're not exactly expecting but another cool jam session, it actually ends up being several jam sessions in one with limited vocals around 4:20 mark, it leaves you with plenty of room to travel your own path. "Andromeda' has more of a BLACK SABBATH sound than any song on the album, with it being over thirteen minutes long and very limited vocals, it leaves plenty of room for your mind to explore and make its own journey through the song.
After not really knowing anything about the genre before I listened to this ep I now completely understand it's presence and importance of this genre, "Cassiopea" is a great album to have in your arsenal for those times when you want to just kick back and get lost in the music.
