Al-Namrood - Atba'a Al-Namrood album cover

AL-NAMROOD is another release from Shaytan Productions, which only releases music with Eastern ethnic elements. The band comes from Saudi Arabia and the meaning of the word AL-NAMROOD is the Non-Believer, a characterization which really suits to the music they are playing, as it can be described as unholy oriental Black Metal.
As far as the compositions are concerned, the four tracks of this demo are of typical Black Metal nature with an Arabic timbre which is derived by the sound of the instruments and the modal melodies. The lyrics are in the Arabic language. The production is mediocre and the compositions are unrefined and sound as if they are coming from the background. The eastern melodies make the whole composition distinct and travel the listener to the hot and arid landscapes of Saudi Arabia, unfolding the darkness of the Arabian nights.

Other than the Eastern texture created by the melodies, I can't find originality in the structure of the compositions and this is happening mainly because of the way that the electric guitars are used. It is something that I have heard before in raw, unvarnished old-school Black Metal.
