It has been almost seven years since the last time I was in England. Nottingham always has a special place in my heart, and now this little city in Midlands, which is as important for live concerts, as Birmingham is for the bands it has given through history I suppose- in Christmas spirit welcomes W.A.S.P. for one more time. The doors of Rock City opened around 06:30 and I moved straight to the main hall. At that moment I did not expect this gig to be sold out, but as time marched the venue became full.

There was a supporting band that played for about half an hour. Those people on stage kept playing their songs but 'till the end of their performance no one heard the name of the band to be mentioned. Funny isn't? Well, their style was a mixture of new Rock with some old school references, not my style, but maybe someone else's though and it is a pity not to mention their name in either case. I would like to say more about that band, but since I do not know their name it wouldn't be fair, for both sides, to review in a wider extend their performance and appearance. I wanna know the name of the band when I am about to take it six feet under ground.

It took about another half an hour until W.A.S.P. started their set, and the non smoking policy made this half an hour appearing like an eternity- a bit weird that I was not able to smoke anymore in that place. In front, there was a couple that seemed to be there just for the photos... apparently when W.A.S.P. started with On Your Knees, they disappeared somewhere in the back, made absolute sense due to the fact that everybody went nuts and surprisingly there was a small group of people starting moshpits, wow... Anyhow, that scenery with the crowd dancing constantly was stable through the whole concert, even in the two tracks from the new album, that, let's say, are not well known yet. During Arena Of Pleasure and Chainsaw Charlie the whole club was moving around. They finished with the energetic I Wanna Be Somebody and the first encore was Heaven's Hung In Black, thanks God the last song goodbye was Blind In Texas.

Blackie seemed a lot better and a lot passionate than the last time I had the chance of seeing W.A.S.P.. The screen behind, I cannot say if it was a good or a bad idea.. .hmmm, it is a good idea when you see it as something extra to the band, it is a bad idea when you see the band as an extra to it. During Babylon's Burning at least we had the chance of seeing the video clip... I do not know if that is the actual one, as we had anticipated Crazy to be the first. The sound was quite good, the band had an amazing stage appearance and the best possible audience. So, the gig ended leaving us in a happy spirit, eager to save the queen... how many times? I've lost the count!
