TOOL have made the first appearance upon Greek soil before almost 9 months when they left their Greek fans rather disappointed. The venue that hosted that show was totally inappropriate for the occasion and made dificult to watch the band with poor sound. So, the Didi Star promotion label thought that it would be a nice idea to bring TOOL back in the Terra Vibe venue this time where the annual Rockwave Festival is held.

Because we are used to be honest with you I have to say that we found it difficult to decide who will attend this concert since nobody from the METAL TEMPLE crew is an actual fan of TOOL. Eventually, me and Yiannis D. decided to take this assignment and made our way to the venue reaching 15 minutes before TOOL's appearance. For this reason we did not watch the Dj set by PSYCHOGRANDMAMMAS but we can definitely live with that 😉

TOOL took over the stage and about 5000 metalheads welcomed them with a warm applause. The Terra Vibe venue is ideal for this number of people who can comfortably watch the show; the arena was split into two parts Pl 2 (in front of the stage) and Pl 3 (in the back) for the shake of profit since there is a 15 Euros difference between them...

Jambi was the first treat presenting an almost perfect sound; I say almost because Keenan's vocals were sounding buried and weak. The visual show comprised animated video projections with a very good light and minor laser show. TOOL's music combined to the psychedelic videos and the excellent night breeze made the show most enjoyable. Although, I didn't see a mosh-pit or intense headbanging I think the fans enjoyed the songs like: Stinkfist, Schism or Lateralus. One thing that I personally found useless and almost annoying was the fact that between the songs there were some strange electronic loops and samples that lasted too long (at least for me and Yiannis D..

Nevertheless, the band continued in the same stationary pattern (Keenan barely moved a 2 meters distance) while the vocals gained some volume in the middle of the show. Vicarious was the last song of the short setlist that lasted only 80 minutes -actually this is my only complaint about this gig-. Apparently, the setlist could be longer taking into account that TOOL was the only act (the Dj Set doesn't count) and the price of the ticket.

After, Vicarious the band greeted the Greek audience and left the stage without returning to do an encore, as usual. Overall, it was a very good concert with a professional performance of the band. Well, TOOL did not make me a fan of their music but definitely earned my appreciation for what they have accomplished with their work.

The setlist was the following:

01. Jambi
02. Stinkfist
03. 46&2
0.4 Schism
04. Lost Keys
05. Rossetta Stoned
06. Flood
07. Lateralus
08. Vicarious
