2014 has been the year for the English metalheads, relentless touring around the world and playing a show on an iceberg has brought them into the spotlight of the metal elite and now everyone knows their name so who knows what 2015 will bring for the guys but at this rate they'll be getting bigger each year..

It's finally come to that time of year when THE DEFILED play the first date of their tour at Rescue Rooms, Nottingham supported by AVATAR and KILLUS.
Before the show has even started there is a huge que to be let inside with die hard fans of THE DEFILED wearing coffin covered jackets and various other merchandise.

First on stage is KILLUS who walk onto the stage bringing loud guitars, blast beats and wearing a lot of face paint which matches their sound.
The Spanish gang are relatively unknown to most of the audience but tonight earned them a new fan base in Nottingham by getting the audience jumping along to the beat within the first few minutes.

It's easy to tell that this band are heavily inspired by MARILYN MANSON, DEATHSTARS, RAMMSTEIN and ROB ZOMBIE in their stage attire and their heavy metal sound with a heavy influence of industrial metal inserted in there. Bassist Premutoxx is the most energetic yet scariest member of the band with his white eye contact lenses and jumping every where on the stage, it's hard to keep up on watching him especially when paired with guitarist Luar Fixx who just adds to the madness of the show. If you're someone who loves a wild show mixed up with industrial metal then KILLUS are ideal for you, these are destined to be huge.

Before the band has entered the stage the audience is already chanting their name and within minutes the mighty AVATAR appear with a suitably dramatic entrance despite the small stage. The heavy metal circus fronted by energetic Johannes Eckerstrom takes off with a setlist full of hits which he sings whilst strutting round the stage with his cane, songs like ''Let It Burn'', ''Smells Like A Freakshow'', ''Bloody Angel'' and ''Paint Me Red'' had the crowd singing along word by word so loudly that it made the band speechless.

Guitarists Kungen and Tim Ohrstrom along with bassist Henrik Sandelin work together to produce riffs to give AVATAR their dramatic and super heavy sound yet still give it a unique twist which makes AVATAR so distinctive to the rest but drummer John Alfredsson is one hell of a performance drummer.
AVATAR are a band that will make it huge in 2015 and deserve to headline a big stage so they can perform their full heavy metal circus in full with synchronized head banging and screaming crowds.

Next up is THE DEFILED who pounce onto the stage with force and energy by opening up with ''As I Drown'' which has the packed out Rescue Rooms jumping to the beat immediately as it begins, Stitch D and the rest of the guys have certainly got better since playing here in February. Keyboardist The AVD is the chattiest one of the bunch whilst drinking his jagermeister and getting the crowd hyped up for every song played for the night but when he wasn't getting everyone excited he was jumping around the stage on his keyboard.

The set list was full of songs which the fans adored such as ''Black Death'', ''Unspoken'' and ''5 Minutes'' which had the crowds singing along whilst holding lighters in the air but the set closed triumphantly with ''Call To Arms'' which got the pits going. THE DEFILED performed better than ever, creating one of the best shows to start a UK tour  even despite the loss of member Aaron Curse earlier this year, THE DEFILED hail strong no matter how many band members there is.

Setlist:
1. As I Drown
2. The Mourning After
3. Black Death
4. Blood Sells
5. Unspoken
6. No Place Like Home
7. New Approach
8. 5 Minutes
9. Sleeper
10. Call To Arms

Overall this show was mind blowing and could not be changed in anyway, the line up complimented each other with every band gaining a new fan base with the sets they performed tonight. You should expect all these bands to be headlining bigger stages than they already are very soon cause all of them have a power to get huge, THE DEFILED get better and better every time they perform in front of an audience, AVATAR are gaining a bigger fan base every day and KILLUS are destined for something big.
