The number of people gathered outside the Underworld Club that night proved that there are so many loyal thrashers willing to give their soul and empty beer tankard for sacrifice, to the ultimate beer masters and true Metal faith bearers, the ultimate Tankard! So, just to get the things from the beginning, the atmosphere was full of surprises and mystery and all the bangers willing to get their heads smashed onto the scene!
The concert started with Kinetic a promising Greek Metal band which combines many functional elements of Metal. Having been formed back in 2002, from members of Acid Death, Brain Fade and Wisdom, they played songs from their Soul, Emotion, Flesh and The Chains That Bind Us albums. Their musical attitude is a mixture of Death_Thrash Metal, having indeed many influences from the Swedish scene, as well as from European Power Metal syle. They manage to have many fans from Epic, Power and Death metal genres, too. The reactions form the audience showed that they were in touch with the band throughout the concert. Their new attitude in the song writing process could be described as more aggressive and 'dark' than their past and we are waiting for their next hit.
Soon after Kinetic left the stage it was time for Despise to unleash their power. They are one of the oldest Thrash bands of Greece - formed back in 1986 - and have many years of thrash history in the back; no one could possibly forget their opening acts for D.R.I. in 1989 in the historical Rodon Club. They have been characterized by many people as the Greek Slayer and this was somehow obvious that night. They based the majority of their set in their State of Brutality and Indefinite Force albums and managed to get many positive applauses from the crazy audience who was willing to watch the maniacs with the beers soon after...
Having managed to combine Thrash and Punk elements with their endless passion for beer the mighty Tankard have issued 15 albums since their beginning, as well as having one of their two initial members up to now. They were really friendly, simple and unique and played music from their depths of their bellies and hearts! Tankard managed to deliver their Alcohol Metal with unique style and passion - something which was quite obvious from the reactions of the audience throughout the concert!
Can you imagine the hell which followed songs like Chemical Invasion or The Morning After or Alcohol? Everybody was pounding their bodies and heads like crazy mother fuckers - this also applied for people who had not moved their tiny-full fat asses for a long period of time! Gere was so happy and impulsive that drove everybody nuts from the very first second until the last one! If the intensity of the concert was to be measured by the amount of empty beer holders spent that night we can definitely speak about a huge success of the three bands - and especially Tankard of course!!! Until next time we fill our mugs with cold lager or stout and await for the next calling of the beer gods! Cheerz and thank ya guys!
