With a colossal return it only meant one thing, a monstrous lineup, matched with some of the newly hyped metal bands from America, to Australia to the UK's very own, BLACK TONGUE, opening up the night.
First to christen the stageBLACK TONGUE wasted no time introducing themselves, as their Doomcore sound sent vibrations through every passing body.
Spiraling into the black stage that awaited for the Death Metal band to emerge into, the six figures were greeted by a silence of anticipation which soon was interrupted by metallic guitar strum and roaring vocals. Blasting their heavy paced music which bounced off every soul, the night was already causing chaos and havoc within the crowd as kids were flying from all directions on the floor while the band were bouncing around on stage.
Greeted by the shrieks from the crowd, the Auzzies took to the stage lit by a gloomy blue light which soon darkened as their presence wrapped everyone in noise.
Drawing in a larger crowd, the room was already spinning by the time the band hit the first chord.
THY ART, certainly knew how to put on a show, from diving off speakers to reaching out towards fans, energy was at its highest point.
The time had finally came for the main act to leave their mark in Southampton, completely wrecking every compound of air with "Inherit the Crown".
The band played through each track thrillingly, as movement was heating up the stage, as well as the floor, with mosh pits forming for fans to breakout to and head-bang to their content. Like a full on metal gig, hair was flung all around the place, with Mark Heylmun and Dan Kenny setting the trend to follow, gloriously shooting sweat along with their spiral movements.
Halfway through the set, a Wall Of Death was conjured, but before this happened a certain Spiderman in the crowd was called to the stage, stood next to Hermida for the opening split before hell broke loose. This ascended the night into a full energy boost as every soul was moving along to their tremendous sound.
Drawing to the last song of the night, SUICICDE SILENCE didn't need an encore because we all knew what was coming next… "You Only Live Once" which was the final straw for a last mosh. Their most treasured song, sent whirls of fury within the crowd as the band sweated their hair out banging so hard, it was amazing how they could still play so well.
Before leaving the venue in pieces and darkness, it's safe to say they caused one hell of a battleground.
