After 6 years of absence in the French Capital, SOILWORK was back for good, for a Sunday night the Parisian crowd was in an excellent mood and the small venue Le Divan du Monde - was packed to the roof, with a bunch of enthusiastic wild Headbangers.

The first band SYSTEM DIVIDE had cancelled their concert, so the real hostilities had started straight with the All Star band DARKANE featuring Christofer Malmström (NON-HUMAN LEVEL), the famous drummer Peter Wildoer (JAMES LABRIE / ex-TIME REQUIEM / ex-ARMAGEDDON / ex-SILVER SERAPH) and the great Laurence Mackrory (F.K.Ü / ex-ANDROMEDA / SCARVE) on vocals. The Swedish Thrash unit was tight as hell, and the sonic rendition was perfect, not too loud and pretty well balanced, the pair of guitarist formed along with Klas Ideberg (TERROR 2000 / THE DEFACED) was in a perfect riffage homogeny state with some superb solos provided by Malmström, the pace was fast and furious energetically driven by the great duo comprised of Wildoer & Jörgen Löfberg (THE DEFACED) on Bass guitar, and the set list was pretty focused on the superb last album "The Sinister Supremacy" flawlessly performed in the most pristine way by the legendary vocalist Laurence Mackrory... A great appetizer for an Evening of Metallic frenzy .

The more French out of all the Melodic Death Metal band from Sweden: SOILWORK were in a great shape and ready to over-blow the audience with both their sharp riffs and their irresistible chorus line, the pioneers of the Melodic Death from Helsingborg are returning with a new efficient team line up with a true conquering spirit unleashing a perfect setlist, and delivering songs after songs an devastating overload of irresistible hits.

Immediately they were taken the stage by storm with a Björn Strid (THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA) in a great vocal condition, the frontman was very at ease and spotlighting an absolute class and an amazing charisma, which is extremely difficult to find in this genre... Impressive. If the new tracks from the 2013's "The Living Infinite" were in majority, their sheer and obvious quality was strong enough to convincing the most picky and keep everyone federated, in addition some old school stuff were also offered to the most conservative part of the early fanatics ("Bastard Chain" / "Like The Average Stalker") but the climax of the night was reached its peak twice, when the pair of classics ("Weapon of Vanity" and mostly "Nerve") from the legendary "Stabbing The Drama" were played with the great participation of the hot and sweating audience. SOILWORK even using the trick once again in finishing this faultless show with the legendary title track for the final encore. In between, the favorites of mine, "Rise Above the Sentiment" and "Late for the Kill, Early for the Slaughter" -the opening track for the underrated "The Panic Broadcast"- were superbly executed: This last part of the concert had definitively wrecked the neck of your truly, for the whole week... I you are lucky to cross your path with this Fantastic tour, don't miss it.
