So today ladies and gentlemen I bring you another review from the grand city of Manchester, this time to witness one off Norway's finest, the legend that is SATYRICON a band that inspired many a band and has continued the legacy of Black metal through the years, on this day myself and Alexander Pallis would venture in to witness a show of incredible quality and much more.

We start off with a band that has grown from being a one man project to being a band that I would certainly suggest seeing live if you get the chance, VREDHAMMER started off as frontman Per Valla's studio solo project back in two thousand and nine, since then the studio solo project grew into a band which has successfully released three EP's and one studio album entitled "Vinteroffer". From the start of VREDHAMMER set we see the band break in to their first song of the evening and bringing a very heavy yet different approach to normal extreme sounds, it feels to me that the band are taking inspiration from the Norwegian Black Metal scene but adding something else to it as if marking a new way to play Black Metal or in this case Extreme Metal. Either way the sound is immense and huge and brings a chill down my spine just listening to it, the fact that VREDHAMMER have made a newer more updated sound that matches to that of some of the greats in the Black Metal scene is just incredible to say the least and I must say that for any fans of Black Metal or Extreme Metal in general I would definitely say check them out because I can say without fail that this was a band that blew me away with their unique style and energy.

The next band up is Norway's OSLO FAENSKAP. Now folks honestly with these guys I don't know what to think, what I mean of course is that I felt really bored with this performance as it seemed weird to have a Metalcore band perform along two intense Black Metal bands, to each their own I understand but to be perfectly honest I was bored with this performance and kept thinking that these guys sounding as generic as they come, I can understand when someone will say give them a chance and they may grow on you but even after the show I tried and just felt like there was no chance, in all honesty I don't think this will be a band that I would see again as I understand there are of course people who will love breakdowns and high screaming vocals as well as generic guitar tones and drum patterns but not me.

We now come to the final band of the evening and a band that certainly brings with them a presence live that truly defines what they are capable of in every sense, the band I am of course referring to is the legend, the great SATYRICON. From the shows start we see the band approach the stage of the Manchester Sound Control with a presence that defines what they are and that is a band that is about to play a set of classics and newer material that the audience will praise for these are the songs that made SATYRICON the band they are now and give the fans something much more, from standing where I was along with my cousin and photographer Alexander Pallis we would see the band open with the track "The Rite of Our Cross" from the record "Now Diabolical", from the very start you can feel this energy flowing through the crowd as they chant along to these sacred and strong songs which have lasted years and on this night brought us all together. One of the songs which truly got us all going was the title track of "Now Diabolical"; from the very start of this track, everyone just goes nuts with excitement just from the groove and the beat that pounds right through every fans head and just makes us all lose it.

From every moment of the show we would see the band act out four different acts to which were structured just like the bands recent opera performance to which this showed and this tour had been moulded off of which to me shows that the band wanted to give to the fans a chance to witness this set and this very same energy.
