This was the fourth version for Panzer Fest Festival (the third one on São Paulo), and it came back to the place where the first version happened, Cine Jóia, on Liberdade. But the public on this version was lesser than the previous one, unfortunately…

The first band to cam to the stage was the female Death/Thrash band SINAYA.

Besides their set was short and the sound quality was not so good as it could be, Mylena Mônaco (vocals, guitars, and the only remaining member from the EP "Obscure Raid" line up), Renata Petrelli (guitars), Camila Toledo (bass guitar) and Dutchi (drums) showed a very good attitude on stage, with a little mistake on tempo on the beginning (due the sound quality), and lots of energy showed on songs like "Pure Hate" and "Obscure Raids" (both from the EP), and the newcomer "Infernal Reverie".

These girls are from Hell, so we can expect great things from them!

Setlist:

1. Intro/The Resurrection
2. Pure Hate
3. Obscure Raids
4. Infernal Reverie

After a little break, the quintet BLASTHRASH came to the stage.

At the beginning, Diego Nogueira (bass guitar) wasn't with them, but Dario Viola (vocals), Henrique Perestrelo and Hugo Golon (guitars) and Rafael Sampaio (drums) came to the stage this way and played some songs, and so Diego joined, and the massacre started!

Playing a fast and furious mix of Crossover with Thrash Metal, they show that have much more to give to Brazilian scene, as we could see in songs like "On The Shores Of Uncertainty", "Collective Suicide" and their hymn "Possessed by Beer". And we can see that they have an excellent attitude on stage, with Dario having a good communication with the public. But as on SINAYA's case, the sound quality was bad, with guitars on low volume level.

But BLASTHRASH proved that they are good, and I just can't wait to see a show of them again!

With fury in their veins and blood in their eyes, the quintet HELLARISE came to conquer the public.

Playing songs from their EP "Functional Disorder", Flávia Morniëtári (vocals), Mirella Max (guitars, backing vocals), Daniel Crivello (guitars), Kito Vallim (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Felippe Max (drums) distilled pure hatred in form of Technical Death/Thrash Metal, even with the guitar sound still on low levels.

But the band didn't seem to take it seriously, and unleashed Hell on songs like "More Mindless Violence", "More Than Alive" (music from their new lyric video, released on the night before the show, with the images from the video exhibited on the walls of the venue), and the excellent "Nemesis". But they had two special moments: one when Diana Arnos (vocalist from NO WAY) came to the stage and sang ARCH ENEMY's "We Will Rise" with them, and their aggressive version for KREATOR's "Violent Revolution". Flávia and Mirella were at their best at this night, having great attitude on stage.

Excellent show!

Setlist:

1.More Mindless Violence
2. Rest in Pieces
3. More Than Alive
4. Nemesis
5. We Will Rise
6. Functional Disorder
7. Human Disgrace
8. Violent Revolution

Following, was time for Limeira's based quartet CIRCLE OF INFINITY to make their show.

They play a hard and brute Thrash Metal in the vein of SLAYER and PANTERA, and Edson Moraes (vocals, guitars), Allan Farias (lead guitar), Mateus Paiva (bass guitar) and Alexandre Culano (drums) showed a good musical work, and a show with good vibe.

They played songs from their first album, "Moments of Evil", as "Circle of Therapy", "Moments of Evil" and "Wake Up and Fight". Again, the sound quality was not so good, but the band showed the power from Limeira's Metal scene, and Big Daddy here could find another Metal Monk from Metal Temple there, Paulo Maniaco.

Very good show!

Setlist:

1. We Fight
2. Circle of Therapy
3. Dark Souls
4. Moments of Evil
5. Take My Mind Take My Fear
6. Wake Up and Fight
7. Headbanger

Some time to smoke a cigarette and to breathe fresh air, and an introduction called "Web of Lies" (the main theme for the upcoming album), and then, ANCESTTRAL came to the stage and made a perfect show.

Their experience made the difference, and taking the best quality of the sound of the entire night, Alexandre Grunheidt (vocals, guitars), Leonardo Brito (guitars), Renato Canonico (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Denis Grunheidt (drums) showed how sharp they are on their way of playing Thrash Metal with melodic aspects from traditional Heavy Metal in the vein of old METALLICA, with perfect attitude on stage (Renato and Leonardo changes side a lot, Alexandre moves a lot as well), making the audience stay nailed in the place to see them play excellent songs like the hooking "Trust", the violent "Blooshed and Violence", and the eponymous "We Kill". But they played a song that we all couldn't expect: a heavy and more aggressive version for ALICE IN CHAINS' "Them Bones".

Perfect band, perfect show, and I just can't wait to hear the new album!

By the way: all of their releases are available for official download on their page, so access http://www.ancesttral.com/ and be happy!

The next band was the owners of the fest: PANZER.

They were praised as the heroes they are, and even with the sound quality again not as good as in all the festival (it was in the same level as the one we had for ANCESTTRAL), they showed again a powerful and energetic show, with great songs, very good attitude from Rafinha Moreira (vocals) and Raphael "Drogo" DM (bass guitar), but André Pars (guitars) showed a good attitude as well, and Edson Graseffi (drums) is a monster behind his kit, playing savage and heavy all the time.

"Affliction", the wonderful "Rising" and "The Last Man on Earth" are great songs to see alive, but to make the feeling of a great celebration becomes stronger (please, it's not a joke with the title of their second album, "The Strongest"), their former vocalist, Élcio Cruz, came to the stage and sang two songs with the band, "Fake Game of Heroes" and "Your Blood", being hailed by the public and hugging Rafinha tenderly after his special appearance.

They were applauded as the heroes deserve… As the heroes they truly are.

Was it the end of the festival?

No way!

It was time for another legendary band from Brazil come to the stage: GENOCÍDIO was out for blood!

The band feels free on the stage, and was extremely good to see Murillo Leite (vocals, guitars), Rafael Orsi (guitars), the old stallion W. Perna (bass guitar) and João Gobo (drums), all having great attitude, banging their heads and making a great show, showing that the age and experience they have only tempers more and more their great songs, as "In Love With Hatred", "Encephalic Disturbance", their personal version for MERCYFUL FATE's "Come to the Sabbath".

One special moment of their show was when Roger Lombardi (vocalist of GOATLOVE) came to the stage and singed with them the obscure and almost gothic "Settmia", a great song from them.

GENOCÍDIO doesn't need any other words to describe a show of them that isn't "excellent".

Setlist:

1. Birth of Chaos
2. Reverse
3. Numbiness Sunshine
4. Encephalic Disturbance
5. Cloister
6. In Love With Hatred
7. Settmia
8. Come to the Sabbath
9. Uproar

Was the festival over now?

Not yet, dear nephews and nieces, for it was time for WOSLOM make a little show.

The quartet of Classic Thrash Metal (in the same vein of TESTAMENT, MEGADETH and METALLICA) was called to play a medley of some songs that influenced them, and were played parts from METALLICA's "Disposable Heroes", MEGADETH's "Tornado of Souls", EXODUS' "A Lesson in Violence", SLAYER's "Black Magic" and others. Silvano Aguilera (guitar, vocals), Rafael Iak (lead guitar), Fernando Oster (drums) and the new comer André Mellado (bass guitar) shows very good attitude on stage and great communication, a consequence of their experience of years playing here in Brazil and on Europe.

But as they got some more time, they played an excellent version for MERCYFUL FATE's "Egypt" that gained a more Thrashing force, without those high pitches from King Diamond (I love his singing, but to see the song in another tune was a very good experience). And as there was more time for them, they played their most anthemic song, "Time to Rise", from their first album.

Setlist:

1. Medley
2. Egypt
3. Time to Rise

A very good festival, indeed, but the Metal maniacs must be there and support. It's a matter of fact that money loss means that the probability of good festivals occurs diminish a lot. Then, be there, and make things happen!

There are many countries in the world that would love to have the number of very good shows from country based bands that we have…
