Despite all my efforts I couldn't make it at the right time on the venue. So, when I arrived, the first band had already finished and Caliban were just starting their performance.

Forsaken Horizon gave the blast for a huge massive circle pit, with all the hardcore kids giving their best moves under the sounds of Shadow Hearts and Vent albums mainly. A really stoned performance from a really tight band, looking forward for their summer appearance in Greece.
I wasn't completely aware of Devildriver's potential on stage and the crowd's anticipation had made me quite curious about their performance. Despite my expectations of Devildriver, being a calm break between Caliban and In Flames, ex-Coal Chamber frontman's new band delivered a completely raw show. In the style of Lamb of God, with an almost Black Metal vibe, Devildriver had made the task of In Flames more difficult…

Last time I saw In Flames live in the UK was two years ago in their classic tour with Slipknot. Back then they were a support band playing 30 minute sets. In Astoria today, In Flames as the main act this time, having 7 albums in their back-catalogue, were off to give a great show. Opening with F®iend and continuing with System and Pinball Map they didn't make the mistake of just promoting the new album and simply played a best-of set that kept everyone happy. As time went on, they continued with Heavy Metal anthem (as described by Anders Frieden) Episode 666,

Scorn, Clayman, Trigger, Cloud Connected, In Search of I, A Quiet Place, even Behind Space from their debut album. After almost 90 minutes and while the tunes of Only For The Weak were being blasted off the speakers, the band ended a quite impressive show in a country where their fan-base is increasing steadily.
We should mention Anders Frieden's statement during the show: If you buy our new album put it into the folder: In Flames-the best band in the world which is quite accurate especially after such a great show.

- Special thanks to Andreas. Keep it real.
