One more Saturday night filled with the blackest of the black intensions! I felt too wicked so I decided to visit Underworld Club to watch the Finnish twisted act Impaled Nazarene. We saw them before the live and as they said, the party had already started!

I entered the venue and I saw about 400 metalheads, or should I say blacksters, waiting to see the Black Metal legends. I admit I wasn't expecting to see so many people gathered! It seems I was wrong. Greece finally has a huge extreme Metal audience that wouldn't miss this live for anything else in the world! Oh, did I mention that the same night Pearl Jam were also performing here in Greece? Those 400 blacksters didn't seem to care!

The first band to hit the stage was Abyssgale. I admit I didn't even know that this Athenian band existed! Great mistake! Despite only playing four songs, they achieved to amaze me with their Emperor style Black Metal! And imagine I don't like Emperor! I can't say much more things about them because their set was very short. If they keep like this, we will surely hear them a lot in the near future!

The next Greek band that had to prove that Black Metal is still alive and kicking was Ravencult. Their set consisted of 6-7 songs. What can I say about these guys? In my opinion, this band is already established and what is left is a good contract from a record label. They have nothing to be jealous of other Black Metal bands! And they proved it for one more time in Underworld Club. Despite the bad sound, something that it is not their fault, Ravencult delivered a hell of a nice show filled with pure, blasphemous Black Metal! The singer was kind of possessed on stage! They also played a cover of Celtic Frost's Into The Crypt Of Rays! I hope that we will see these guys soon again, even as a support act next to a big name!

The time for Impaled Nazarene was coming, and the last support act before the Finnish killers was one more Greek band, Enshadowed. Formerly known as Nocternity Enshadowed, these guys had (in my humble opinion) a bad start as a band. Their first works didn't seem to gain recognition from the press and people. I was one of the people who didn't like their music at all. I think what they said was something like Fuck you! We are fucking good and it's time you see it, too! They changed their name to Enshadowed, released some good works. This band delivered the best live show I have ever seen from a Greek band! They played 8-9 songs of Norwegian style Black Metal, deeply influenced by bands such as Immortal and Dark Funeral. They played a cover of Marduk's Panzer Division Marduk, and that's when the crowd went frenzy! Great show, great performance and great compositions! So, here's what I mean by saying that these guys delivered the best show I have seen from a Greek band. They had set an upside down cross in front of the stage and in the middle of their performance, the singer (if I am not mistaken) set fire on the cross and they continued playing! You should have seen it! It was like a ritual!

It was time for the totally deranged and fucking crazy Finnish black - or whatever you wanna call them - metalers Impaled Nazarene to hit the stage! Every single metalhead was waiting to see the Finish archbishops of mayhem and blood perform in their own unique way. Impaled Nazarene came out across Europe to celebrate and manifest their latest satanic and warfare creation Pro Patria Finlandia (2006) which really marks their return to their usual unholy sound - attributed and connected with their name for a really long time. The three support bands were truly energetic and really did a fantastic job by warming us up! Impaled Nazarene were really energetic and enthusiastic with the Greek audience. They played as if Armageddon was going to take place the morning after! The funniest moment was when instead of Sadhu Satana, Mika screamed Sadhu Malakaaaaaaaaaaa. Oh, malakas is a Greek word and stands for asshole! I would also like to add that one of the guitarists was a session member, but I have no idea who he is. The reactions of the audience varied from pure madness to... pure madness as they performed master tracks such as Goat Sodomy and many more in the same style. They even played my favourite Impaled Nazarene song, which they hardly ever play live, The Killer Of Trolls. Lastly, I would like to say that they played encore songs like Armageddon Death Squad and Sadhu Satana. Chaos, mass destruction and hellish atmosphere were abundant that dark night for both the band and the audience.

Here is the condemned play list for the dedicated ones (Many thanx to Jon Leper for providing the goat approved play list):
