Well, this was an interesting event after all. Following the official release of the Athenian hard rockers' self-titled debut album, DANGER ANGEL invited worldwide class honored singer Jeff Scott Soto (who contributed lead vocals in one of the songs off the Greek band's CD) for an evening to remember. The plan was to have the band itself present some or all of their "Danger Angel" album and then carry on with a party list of songs from Soto's career to entertain the American/Puerto Rican vocalist's fan base.

Quite on time DANGER ANGEL hit the stage and the big question was if their new vocalist would fill in the gap left by their original singer's going away. Or such was the primal thoughts, since the key factor regarding the sextet's set was the - at its best - mediocre sound omitting a lot from the vocals, keys and drums performance (the venue engineer was not as 'present' as wished that evening). Trying to evaluate DANGER ANGEL's own work, though, was quite an easy task since they presented a sparkling recital with enough songs off their album plus a memorable set of cover takes including "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" (JOURNEY), "Perfect Strangers" (DEEP PURPLE), "Rebel Yell" (Billy Idol) and "Forever Young" (TYKETTO). M.T., their new vocalist, portrayed a more serious and wise profile in regards to his predecessor winning over a warm crowd of 250~300 faces but pointed out he's an ace in singing more classic Hard Rock stuff fading a bit in the American sleazy numbers of the band. Bearing in mind the songwriting was not built for his voice anyway, we should probably resume in DANGER ANGEL's next studio work or further live gigs. In general, mixed with the excellent performance of the musicians, DANGER ANGEL's team attitude left no space for negative remarks; hence, the fat applaud following the normal end of their set.

Not letting a single second go, Jeff climbed up the stage for a live take of "Never Let You Go" (the pre-said guest vocals song off DANGER ANGEL's new CD) and immediately the party did burst off. In a sweating, full-smoke club where even Jeff decided to light his own cigarette while laughing/commending on the Greek's ideals regarding smoking and laws etc etc, this special show offered highlights from Soto's illustrious career: "21st Century" and "Testify" (both from his latest solo album), "One Love" (form the W.E.T. project), the "Stand Up And Shout" OST killer and a series of TALISMAN classics ("Mysterious", the "Frozen" remake, "I'll Be Waiting") and obscurities ("Day By Day"), to our delight. Throughout this session only two comments are obligatory to be made: a) thumbs up to the Greek band for their solid hard work preparing this set and b) Jeff's voice - although clearly influenced by the suffocating atmosphere in the venue - remains in high standards offering wonderful pieces of singing and general entertaining.

Wrapping it up with a raw take on BON JOVI's "You Give Love A Bad Name" - including both singers onstage - the party was over and a wide smile was on in most fans' faces. Praising DANGER ANGEL's hopeful dynamics, Jeff Scott Soto bowed to the crowd and what's now left - in cold blood - is the nice atmosphere created that evening plus the points the Greek hard rockers gained for their future moves. Don't need something more, I guess.
