Download Festival was on its second day and brimming with a huge mixture of bands playing it's stages from easy going Pop / Punk to extreme Black Metal in the forms of BOWLING FOR SOUP and BEHEMOTH. It was easy to see that a more diverse crowd had entered the legendary site that day with many fans looking like they have arrived from Reading & Leeds Festival or Bloodstock Open Air depending on which stages they were heading too.
Saturday went harder than the day before and was completely sold out.

Main Stage

The UK's hottest melodic Hardcore act WHILE SHE SLEEPS burst onto the main stage with aggression and energy, opening the set with ''Death Toll'' followed by ''Dead Behind The Eyes'', ''This Is The Six'' and more. Vocalist Lawrence Taylor proved his reputation as one of the most energetic vocalists in Metal despite his recent throat surgery which made people very wary of how they would sound, they put on the best performance they possibly could and even having Lawrence Taylor climbing up various parts of the stage. The crowd was full of dedicated fans with cloth flags, it was certainly a set not to miss.

The American Pop / Punk group BOWLING FOR SOUP won over the audience with their giant inflatable sheep and comical tracks, the band who only play the UK for festivals gained a huge audience which got bigger by each track. The set was filled with fan favourites such as ''1985'', ''Girl All The Bad Guys Want'', ''Almost'' and the theme song to Phineas & Ferb, all of which started some very entertaining mosh pits, lead vocalist was constantly cheered on to chug his beer in between breaks whilst the other members got a knight in shining armour on stage to kill the inflatable sheep. BOWLING FOR SOUP have still got the stage energy they have had since the beginning, even though they will rarely play the UK they put on an amazing show which set the standard for the whole weekend.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE had a packed in crowd at main stage at the hottest point of the day, though they had an hour long set with many technical difficulties it was still good, guitarist Adam Dutkiewiz ran throughout the crowd in the first two songs getting them going and providing backing vocals for when Jesse Leach strutted down the catwalk. Songs featured in the hour long set were ''Always'', ''Rose Of Sharyn'', ''In Due Time'', ''The End Of Heartache'' and more but most fans felt extremely disappointed by the setlist as it was weaker than normal but despite this the crowd sang along to every track and mosh pits were flowing.

With many of Download Festival's dedicated fans doubting how well FALL OUT BOY would perform at the festival they certainly proved them wrong with a energetic stage set on main stage supporting LINKIN PARK. Opening up with one of their newer songs ''The Phoenix'' to get the crowd chanting lyrics followed by fan favourites ''I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me'' and ''A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me'' it won old and new fans over within 20 minutes, Pete Wentz proved he still had as much energy as he did in the early days of the band and Patrick Stump's vocals are better than ever. No one ever expected the band to play Download Festival but they did with passionate energy and a batch of songs to win over everyone..

Pepsi Max Stage

Overuse of pyrotechnics and super dark lyrics are the only way you can describe BEHEMOTH's performance on the Pepsi Max stage at Download Festival, the set opens up with newest track ''Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel'' which had the packed tent head banging in sync to the dark lyrics and tones of the guitars. Nergal and the rest of the band have certainly bounced back from the ordeal in Russia and are now heavier than ever, injecting a lot more passion into their music than ever before especially in tracks such as ''Slaves Shall Serve'', ''Ov Fire And The Void'' and ''Conquer All'', the encore of the spectacular stage show is ''O Father O Satan O Sun'' which is full of fire and black confetti spraying onto the audience. BEHEMOTH prove why they are the new favourites of Black Metal right now and why you need to see them live as soon as you can.
