ANNIHILATOR is one of the bands that I really appreciate… Not to mention that I adore their first 3 albums. Generally they are a really good band and of course Jeff Waters is one of the best guitar players ever. So, having the opportunity to watch them live again was a nice gift for my name day. Last time that I've seen them live was really awesome, although they didn't play for too long. So now it was time for me to watch their full show.
It was about 9 when BEYOND PERCEPTION hit the stage. Definitely I'm not the one that should write about them, because this kind of music is not my cup of tea. I prefer classic things. But from what I saw they played good enough and there were some people in there that enjoyed their hardcore-something sound. I don't believe that they were a suitable band to open for ANNIHILATOR but I believe that their songs are worth-listening-to for people who like that kind of music. Generally, their appearance was pretty good although most people who doesn't like this stuff were disappointed.
At 10 o'clock ANNIHILATOR started their show, with the crowd going lunatic at the view of Jeff Waters who was in a pretty good shape and mood. Here I have to mention that the sound wasn't that good during the first two songs but after a while it got fixed. By the time they started playing their well-known song "King Of The Kill" there wasn't a single person in there that didn't sing or bang his head… Generally, everybody in the venue enjoyed their full show including some of their classic songs, Jeff's guitars (with blue or red leds and this stuff) and the whole band's energy and performance. There was also an unfortunate event… At some time a stupid $#$@#$%$ threw a beer can at Jeff and he hit him in the eye. Good for us he continued the show after a while and just said that we should throw out of the venue everyone that behaves this way. Here I have to write about the most beautiful moment of the live… "Phoenix Rising" (which most of us expected to hear) and "Sounds Good To Me" (which I, as well as most of the people around me didn't expect to hear) both acoustic. It was really awesome… After this they played a couple more songs and left the stage to return after a couple of minutes and play "Crystal Ann" and "Alison Hell", which was definitely a kick-ass finale for this enjoyable show. What can I say… It was a very nice live show that everyone in there enjoyed and I can't wait to see them again at sometime in the future.
