September 9, 2017
Vox Tristanum is a new groove metal project formed in 2017 by former members of Slovakian band Tristana. Christian Vidal known from the band Therion joined the project as a lead guitar player. The project has released a debut music video "Stop".
Tristana broke up in 2016 and its members Pete, Laco and Dusan started working on a new project. Than they were joined by the drummer Elevo who had left the band Depresy and who collaborated with Tristana on their last album "Virtual Crime." Argentinian Christian Vidal, the member of Therion, was the last one to join the project.
In 2007 Christian Vidal got a place in " The Road Voltures " , the band had a purpose of returning former Mr. Big vocalist Eric Martin. In 2010 he came to Therion as a new guitarist. In 2017 he was collaborating with Russel Allen on concerts in South America.
The new project's sound is groovy. Tuned down guitars are supported with electronic samples. Some guests were invited for the recording as well such as Thomas Vikström ( Therion, ex- Candlemass) who sang his parts in the song " Save Me ".
" In the last days an important new member has joined the project. We will announce the name later, but I am sure it will be a nice surprise" , said Pete Wilsen, the singer of Vox Tristanum.
Song " Stop " is a good example of what you can expect from the new project.
