The Metal Networkâ„¢, a new, free social media-based music video sharing and entertainment network has launched on Twitter.
The Metal Networkâ„¢ will broadcast over 3,000 on-demand Metal music videos daily, programmed to circulate across a series of genre-related channel pages on Twitter 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"I noticed the possibility of broadcasting on-demand music videos within social media in 2009," says Mike Brochin, music video programmer and owner of The Metal Networkâ„¢. "From 2010 to 2012, I'd experimented with a couple approaches to music promotion on Twitter, which brought in some followers.
In 2013, I started programming music videos to embed and broadcast in a continuous fashion across a series of channel-like pages, which brought in a lot of new followers. I had thought previously about combining those pages into a single entity, so in 2014 I built The Metal Network."
With a cumulative following now over 500,000 across all channel pages (including music video pages for Iron Maiden, Metallica & Slipknot), The Metal Networkâ„¢ will operate as a sub-network of Social Music Netâ„¢, a planned online music portal to which other sub-networks will be added in 2015.
The Metal Networkâ„¢ features simple, on-demand music video viewing for channel page followers (with playable videos delivered straight to user home timelines), plus free promotion for the record labels (over 250) and Metal bands (several thousand) whose music videos have been programmed for circulation across the new network.
Previously, Brochin began an independent commitment to building and operating former music directory websites Rock And Metal Dot Com (launched in 2003) and Music Portal Dot Com (launched in 2004).
