Solitary haven't emerged from their rehearsal room since their successful mini-tour of the Netherlands in June, but when they heard that an old friend and supporter of the band was in trouble, they immediately stepped up to the plate.

Ian Wright was the owner of the Riverside club in Selby, where Solitary recorded their incendiary 2014 live album, I Promise To Thrash Forever, but since then Ian has expanded his operations, moving to The Venue, a much larger premises, but still based in Selby. The Venue has hosted successful events such as Metal 2 The Masses and Darkfest and is the adopted home of the Warhorns Festival. However legal wrangles with the local council have left The Venue's future looking precarious, with crippling financial issues making closure a very real possibility.

To fight the threat of closure Ian has decided to put on a two day festival to try and raise desperately needed funds and Solitary have answered the call.

The FIGHTBACK! Festival will take place on the bank holiday weekend of 27th and 28th August 2017 at The Venue, with Solitary playing on the 27th which is the heavier of the two days, musically speaking.

Speaking about the event Solitary's Rich Sherrington said...
"We've kept in touch with Ian, despite the fact that we've not played in Selby for a couple of years and it's gutting to hear of the problems he's had since moving to The Venue. All over the country music venues are closing and when someone tries to improve the situation they face massive problems, despite being initially granted the licences and planning permission. That's just not right and we can't sit by and let it happen."

With drummer Royston adding...
"We were more than happy to offer our services, as Ian's been good to us over the years. We haven't played live since we came back from the Netherlands in June so it's a good way of getting us in shape for the rest of our UK shows in the run up to Christmas."

Completing the super-heavy Sunday 27th line up, along with Solitary, will be Eleventh Hour, Morpheus Rising, Dychosis and Korvus

Tickets for the event are priced at just £5 per day and can be picked up from
