SHADOW OF INTENT: New Song "Underneath A Sullen Moon."
April 4, 2018
West Hartford, CT symphonic blackened deathcore outfit, Shadow Of Intent, dropped a brand new track over the Easter weekend, entitled 'Underneath A Sullen Moon.' The new track is taken from writing and recording sessions that got underway in late 2017 and had to be sidelined early this year as other commitments took precedence. 'Underneath A Sullen Moon' was completed during these sessions which were once again produced by SoI guitarist Chris Wiseman, before being sent off to Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Beyond Creation) for mixing and mastering.
Vocalist Ben Duerr had the following to say about the song's lyrical content and the meaning behind it:
"Although the song is not about this exact situation, it is indeed about suicide. I wrote this track about a myself and an attempt I made on my own life a few years ago. This song is very personal to me. Although it is a bit exaggerated, it was more of a "what if I went through with it?" scenario. From there I sculpted this into what will be the next concept."

What the media has to say about Shadow of Intent and 'Reclaimer':
"This non-stop thrill ride of an album is not just a plain-jane deathcore affair. There's lots of other sounds on display here. Most notably, there's heavy use of orchestral accompaniment, making this album a must-have for fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse and Ex Deo. The contrast between these heavy keys and the more straight-forward deathcore guitar work gives the album an extra layer of thrills while also preventing listening fatigue. With new timbres always coming in and out of frame, there's nothing to be bored about here." - No Clean Singing
"Reclaimer seems to capture Shadow Of Intent at a time of augmentation and growth. More concise song structures, improved orchestration, dynamic production and the incorporation of clean singing are all elements that build on Primordial's impressive base. The group's talent lies in being inventive, dynamic and unabashedly melodic while maintaining their heaviness, satisfying both fans of straightforward deathcore and more progressive music... I have no doubt that Reclaimer will catapult Shadow Of Intent to even greater heights than Primordial, and now, with a live band behind them, I am excited to hear the group bring their technical and symphonic sound to the world's stages." - It Djents
"Stunning solos, grooves that carve canyons into solid firmament, hyperdissonant breakdowns that could eradicate life from an entire galaxy without second thought or remorse and symphonies that simply drop jaws, Reclaimer is the sound of a band finding balance and progression-taking the most memorable moments from an incredible debut and using them as a scaffold for an unstoppable follow-up." - New Transcendence
