A report from the set ofSAXON's latest music video,"Hammer Of The Gods", in North Yorkshire, Englandcan be found on theAmped web site. The song comes off the band's new album,"Call To Arms", which will be released on May 23 viaMilitia Guard Music,UDRandEMI. The follow-up to 2009's"Into The Labyrinth"(SPV/Steamhammer) features a guest appearance by legendary keyboardistDon Airey(DEEP PURPLE,RAINBOW).

SAXONhas written two tracks for the forthcoming film"Hybrid Theory", starringNoel Clarke("Kidulthood"),Martin McCann("Killing Bono","Clash Of The Titans"),Martin Compston("Disappearance Of Alice Creed"),Craig Conway("Descent, DogSoldiers","Doomsday") and directed byJames Erskin("One Night in Turin"). Shooting will begin in June this year.
The tracks will be featured onSAXON's new album,"Call To Arms", and have been written specially for the film.
"Hybrid Theory"follows a group of British soldiers who find themselves in a life or death battle with an enemy beyond their wildest nightmares.
"Hybrid Theory"producerLionel Hickssums up the collaboration: "It's great to have a band likeSAXONinvolved in the soundtrack to this film. These new songs really capture the mood of the film, and everyone working on it is thrilled."
SAXONrecently pulled out of Australia'sSoundwavefestival due to delays in the recording sessions for"Call To Arms".
SAXONhad a busy year in 2010, which included performing a blinding set atDownloadin June, where to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the firstMonsters of Rockshow, they played their legendary"Wheels of Steel"album in its entirety for the first time ever.
SAXON's last album,"Into The Labyrinth", sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according toNielsen SoundScan. The CD debuted at No. 29 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The CD was recorded at theTwilight Hallin Krefeld, Germany, under the direction ofCharlie Bauerfeind.
