Sanhedrin (L to R: Jeremy Sosville, Erica Stoltz, Nathan Honor)

Brooklyn pure metal alchemists Sanhedrin create music that merges doom and classic metal complemented by lyrics that delve into the darker elements of humanity and the cyclical nature of destructive ideas. The band, which features Black Anvil guitarist Jeremy Sosville, former Amber Asylum/Lost Goat bassist/vocalist Erica Stoltz, and drummer Nathan Honor, will release its new LP, 'The Poisoner', on February 22 via Cruz Del Sur Music.

In advance of the record's release, Cvlt Nation debuts the new Sanhedrin track, "Wind on the Storm", exclaiming, "F*ck the dumb shit ' it's time to ROCK and motherf*cking ROLL to the sounds of Sanhedrin!". Stream Sanhedrin's "Wind on the Storm" at this location:

When asked to comment on the new song, Stoltz replied, "When a storm is coming, it's changes in the wind that you notice first."

Recorded in Queens, NY with Colin Marston (Krallice, Dysrhythmia) at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves (Gorguts, Prurient), 'The Poisoner' features eight tracks of alluring, diverse metal that reflects the various sides of Sanhedrin, from classic, soaring jaunts to tight, direct melds of gallop-oriented metal and doom-channeled motifs. The LP is the follow-up to the band's 2017 debut, A Funeral for the World, which led Decibel to proclaim that Sanhedrin "wouldn't be out of place next to Judas Priest and Iron Maiden in your record collection".

On 'The Poisoner', Sanhedrin defies categorization, entering into their own carved-out space where exploration and timeless songwriting are paramount. A distinctive element of Sanhedrin is their thought-provoking lyrics, many of which that go deeper than metal's often fantasy and allegory-based themes. Sanhedrin addresses real-world ideas that can be viewed virtually every day in the news. "A lot of the album is about the destructive and chaotic side of human nature," says Stoltz. "The thirst for power, living in a world slipping into a surreal soup of archaic ideas and advanced technology."

"Over the past few years, Brooklyn, NY has given rise to a spirited little trad metal scene, and Sanhedrin's vintage-minded heavy metal thunder is a definite standout. The trio-given its soaring voice and a hefty low end by former Amber Asylum bassist/vocalist Erica Stolz-will release its sophomore full-length next month via Cruz del Sur, and the teaser track they've put up on Bandcamp is an absolute romp. I'm not usually a big trad metal person, but Sanhedrin's promise is undeniable." - Noisey

"As long as we have bands such as Sanhedrin around and creating great music, the lifeblood will flow through metal's roots forever and ever." - Meat Mead Metal

"Brooklyn classic metal/hard rock revivalists Sanhedrin (featuring current and former members of Black Anvil, Lost Goat and Amber Asylum) are releasing their new Colin Marston-recorded LP The Poisoner on February 22 via Cruz Del Sur Music. It's as epic and catchy as you want this kinda stuff to be, and Erica Stoltz's howl remains a true gem." - Brooklyn Vegan
