Reformed '80s Los Angeles rockersHURRICANEwill play their first show on Saturday, July 2 at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California withALCATRAZZ.

HURRICANEis a powerful hard rock band from Los Angeles that formed in 1984 by guitaristRobert Sarzo, and bassistTony Cavazo.Cavazo, formerQUIET RIOTandSNOWbassist, was introduced toSarzoby the lateQUIET RIOTfrontmanKevin DuBrowin the early '80s.DuBrowsuggested they put a band together and they did just that.CavazoandSarzobeing the siblings of the classicQUIET RIOTlineup guitarist and bassistCarlos CavazoandRudy Sarzo, decided to create a monster. They recruited singerKelly Hansen(now inFOREIGNER) and drummerJay Schellenand hit the ground running.

HURRICANEgained worldwide acclaim with the release of its first album,"Take What You Want". The LP and constant touring led to the band getting a major label deal withEnigma Recordsand the release of their chart-topping follow-up effort,"Over The Edge"."Over The Edge"wasHURRICANE's most successful album. Propelled by a powerful-yet-melodic hard rock sound, the album charted in the top 100. It featured a cover ofALICE COOPER's"I'm 18"as well as the band's most successful Top 40 hit,"I'm On To You", in 1988. The title track,"Over The Edge", was also released as a single.

HURRICANEtoured the world withCHEAP TRICK,IRON MAIDEN,STRYPERand theMICHAEL SHENKER GROUPand released its third album,"Slave To The Thrill", in 1990.

HURRICANEdisbanded in the early '90s and are now reborn.CavazoandSarzohave reunited with new but equally potent members, vocalist and guitaristAndrew Freemanand drummerMike Hansen.

Andrew Freemanhas done double duty as a singer and guitarist for several notable bands, namelyTHE OFFSPRING,LYNCH MOB,BULLETBOYSand THIRTY STONES, and has worked with famed producersBob Rock,Simon PhilipsandZeuss.

Mike Hansenhas toured and recorded withGeorge LynchofDOKKEN/LYNCH MOBfame, Paula Abdul,THE POINTER SISTERS,Steve Vai, Steve Lukather (TOTO),George ClintonofPARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC. He has worked with famed classic rock producersBob Ezrin(KISS),Eddie Kramer(THE BEATLES),Simon Phillips, andAndy Johns.
