NESHIIMA: Scottish Rock Outfit Release Details of New EP and Launch Show
January 25, 2018
"Glasgow's Neshiima look to carve their own legacy into the ongoing love story between Rap and Rock" - Rock Sound
United we stand. A sentiment that Glasgow based four piece Neshiima do not take lightly. Arriving on the scene back in 2015 with their critically acclaimed EP "Beware of Gifts", Neshiima are here for a reason. Becoming a growing problem in not only the Metal scene but the world around us, mental health is something that needs to be addressed. Losing both Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington last year alone, suicide and mental health are a very real issue. Taking this in their stride the band have put together the first of an upcoming trilogy of EP's simply titled "Purple". The colour of the wounded and the bruised, the Glasgow quartet reach inside not only themselves but also the listener on their brand new EP that will be exposed to the world on 23rd March 2018.
Vocalist Liam Hesselwood talks about his departure from a religion that no longer served him, and how he needed to reclaim the belief in himself that even his family seemingly no longer had. He speaks about the hurt and anger he feels towards the fact that religion took priority over blood, and this is represented quite clearly in the way he expresses himself through this particular release that is sure to resonate with those who have loved and lost.
With an impressive live history, consisting of an appearance at 2015's UK Tech-Fest alongside support slots with Skyharbor / The Algorithm and Exist Immortal, Neshiima are no strangers to the stage. This is the voice of the new generation overcoming the struggles that life throws at you in the every day and in the grander scheme of things Neshiima understand what it is to be human and with this first EP have begun to create a soundtrack for our own humanity.
Neshiima have announced details of their EP launch show at Glasgow's Ivory Blacks. Tickets and Facebook Event page links can be found below :
