MONDO GENERATOR: Announce dates for 2015 Fall European Tour and enter writing mode for new album
November 14, 2015
Southern California based hybrid metal/punk veterans Mondo Generator return to the Old World for a three week long tour across the European continent in late November that begins at Speedfest in Eindhoven, Netherlands and concludes in Paris, France in December. Having just recently finished a US tour with Peter Pan Speedrock, Mondo Generator big chief Nick Oliveri has this to say about their return:
"I feel great knowing that Mondo Generator is returning to Europe a faster, heavier machine than ever before. Expect a slam pit and we expect you to be in it."
Mondo Generator recently had a lineup shift with the departure of both longtime guitarist Ian Taylor from the fold and drummer Hoss Wright. They've recently recruited and welcomed desert native and long time friend Jeff Bowman (Unsound/Uncontrollable) on the drums and are currently in writing mode for their fifth full length. Europe has always been good to Mondo Generator and this return marks their first trip back since 2013's European run in support of Hell Comes To Your Heart.

Bio:
Mondo Generator is the brain child of renowned bassist/songwriter and heavy music veteran Nick Oliveri (aka Rex Everything). With a career that expands a decade plus and includes four full lengths and numerous singles on labels worldwide along with multiple world tours and festival appearances under their belt, influential is an understatement. Forming in 1997, Nick focused on developing Mondo Generator in between his time between Dwarves and Queens of the Stone Age related projects. With Nick at the production helm and Steve Feldman manning the controls at Monkey Studios in Palm Desert, CA, they unleashed Mondo's brutal and notorious debut album Cocaine Rodeo (Southern Lord Records) to the world. Eleven tracks recorded in the desert that melded stoner rock and punk with seething raw production, he recruited fellow musicians Brent Malkus (aka Burnt Mattress) and Rob Oswald (aka Up N. Syder) to round out the band. It also features his old band mates from the Kyuss years: Chris Goss, Brant Bjork, John Garcia and Josh Homme on select tracks.
In 2003, Mondo Generator entered the studio again with Nick Oliveri, Blag Dhalia and engineer Brad Cook manning the production helm. The result was the heartfelt and rabid follow up entitled A Drug Problem That Never Existed (Rekords Rekords/Ipecac Records). Backed by positive reviews from such publications as Spin Magazine, NME, Exclaim and more, Mondo Generator embarked on an extensive tour that featured a live lineup consisting of Dave Catching (guitar), Molly McGuire (bass) and Brant Bjork (drums) to support the release and landed a slot at the world renowned Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, IL. The tour was documented in the DVD release entitled Use Once And Destroy Me (Mondo Media/Tornado Records).
From 2005 and into 2006, Mondo Generator recorded material with notable engineers Nick Raskulinecz and Mathias Scheenberger with the end result came to be Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails (Suburban Noize/Mother Tongue/Impedance Records). The release saw the addition of desert scene veteran and native, Ian Taylor (Unsound) on guitar and Los Angeles based drummer Hoss Wright.
In 2009, Cocaine Rodeo received a reissue on double disc CD through Impedance Records with the bonus tracks and alternative tracks not featured on the original release along with a second disc of live material recorded at The Troubadour in Los Angeles and at during their set at the 2004 Reading Festival in the UK.
In 2010, Nick entered 606 Studios along with Dave Grohl, Happy Tom (Turbonegro) and Marc Diamond (Dwarves) to pay tribute to Iggy Pop with the recording of the 7" Dog Food E.P. (Impedance Records) and rounded the session out with live acoustic renditions of his own material along with material by some of his favorite artists such as The Ramones, Turbonegro Roky Erikson and Trash Talk.
2012 saw the release of the most recent Mondo Generator album, Hell Comes To Your Heart (Mondo Media/No Balls Records) along with the addition of Mike Pygmie (You Know Who/Invitro) in the lineup. Upon the release, Mondo Generator embarked on a national tour as direct support for Clutch alongside Wino and Saviours for select dates and then broke off into their own headlining tour with Wino and Saviours as support and an appearance at SXSW in 2013. A European tour in support of the release was to follow in the summertime.
2015 has Mondo in writing mode and welcoming new drummer Jeff Bowman (Unsound/Uncontrollable) to the fold. Fall tour with Peter Pan Speedrock across the United States occurs.
