Red Cat Records is very proud to announce the brand new partnership with MINDCRIME and the incoming release of their first full length "Checkmate the King" on September 2014.

This album rides the listener between ancient and modern metal styles from fantasy songs to much deeper concepts such as the repulsion of the war seen as a necessary solution, the depression of those who do not feel represented in a modern, and too chaotic society, but also joyous themes such as the family and the values that set it apart, concept of love as a bond between peoples and between men and women

The MINDCRIME born in 2009 from an idea of guitarist Maurizio Taccioli, who with his friend Dario Cali on drums (both former members, in the 90s, of the Rome area bands "Downkids" and "S.O.S.") decided to propose to their old comrade Bruno Baudo (also him in the early S.O.S.'s line up) to engage in the ambitious project of a Queensryche's tribute band. On one hand for the common passion reserved for the metal legendary Seattle's band, and on the other for the shared desire to experiment new areas of sound.

To complete the line up, they therefore enlist on bass guitar Adriano Cilenti (former Muddy Roxx) and on solo/rhythm guitar Michele Serra (former Mr. Minimitz and Italian Angels) and finally as a cohesive metal band they performed in some rock clubs placed in the italian capital's surrounding areas (from Alkatraz Rock Island, to Jailbreak, to Viper Club), meeting everywhere discreetly success.

Starting from 2011, Maurizio and Michele begin to write some original songs and the band definitely changes its face. The sound get the typical nuances of the musical background of the band's members and that what born from it, it's expressed, after a long process of improvement, in their first album "Checkmate the King".
