IGNITOR: Release Official Video for "Hatchet".
March 13, 2018
Austin, Texas true-metal titans IGNITOR unveil their latest music video for "Hatchet (The Ballad of Victor Crowley)," a song inspired by the Hatchet franchise and featured on the movie's soundtrack. From vocalist Jason McMaster's lyrical perspective the song is delivered through the eyes of Victor Crowley himself. Check out the video below:
Hatchet director Adam Green comments "The first concert I ever went to was Dangerous Toys when they performed at Boston's Orpheum Theater back in 1989. From that moment on, Jason McMaster played a pivotal role in my life musically and I've followed everything he's ever done since. Almost thirty years later to be putting out IGNITOR's "Haunted By Rock N Roll" through my own sublabel ArieScope Records, with EMP LABEL GROUP, and for the band to have written the song "Hatchet" (The Ballad of Victor Crowley)" specifically for the latest entry in my HATCHET slasher film franchise... it is truly a dream come true. IGNITOR represents everything that made me fall in love with metal to begin with."
IGNITOR vocalist Jason McMaster adds "A killer old school heavy metal video in the style of late 80's bloody horror slasher films! This was a labor of love for blood and metal. I am proud of this moment, and very happy with the song we built for Adam's creation of the bloodiest freak of them all, the king of the swamp...Victor Crowley!"
IGNITOR released their sixth full length album Haunted By Rock & Roll November 24, 2017 through EMP Label Group/ArieScope Records. "Hatchet (The Ballad of Victor Crowley)" is the band's third music video taken from the new album "Haunted By Rock & Roll" following "No Sanctuary" and "To Brave The War," the latter two available below.

Haunted By Rock & Roll introduces heavy metal fans to arguably IGNITOR's strongest lineup to date and their definitive metallic statement. Featuring eight new original anthems of leather clad glory including "Hatchet (The Ballad of Victor Crowley)" and a cover of "Hung, Drawn and Quartered" by NWOBHM legends (and EMP labelmates) RAVEN.
EMP label owner/founder Dave Ellefson (MEGADETH) who serves as Executive Producer on Haunted By Rock & Roll has been instrumental in attaining a larger audience for IGNITOR and the sky is now the limit for the band that debuted with a record entitled "Take To The Sky."
ormed in 2003 by founding Agony Column guitarist Stuart "Batlord" Laurence and drummer Pat Doyle formerly of punk legends The Offenders; IGNITOR set out to create the kind of true heavy metal their contemporaries in the Austin, Texas metal scene were lacking. Unabashedly loud and forceful yet retaining all of the sonic spirit and hallmarks of the golden years of heavy metal.
Enduring lineup changes along the way found IGNITOR replacing original vocalist Erica Swinnich with the iconic pipes of Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys, Broken Teeth, Evil United) a much revered elder statesman in Texas metal circles, who was introduced on the "Spider Queen" album in 2007.
In early 2015 IGNITOR would recruit guitarist Robert Williams (Witches Mark) and bassist Billy Dansfiell (Agony Column) beginning a near three year campaign of introducing metal fans to the newly reinvigorated lineup with some scorching live performances in support of such metal titans as Grim Reaper, Helstar, Jag Panzer, Raven and Cage and familiarizing audiences with the songs that would ultimately become the Haunted By Rock & Roll album.
