GROEZROCK 2017: New Acts Announced
March 7, 2017
You've all been anxiously awaiting an announcement from your GROEZROCK-buddies, haven't you? Well, here it is! However, before we roll out any new names, we do have some bad news to share.
Due to some unfortunate square footage issues (meaning we have a smaller field at our disposal), there will be no Impericon.de-Stage this year. Now, don't be angry or sad. We still have plenty of awesome announcements too! Really ... Keep reading:
We are very excited to welcome back three hardcore legends around: Gorilla Biscuits, Cro-Mags and No Turning Back.
Hungry for more hardcore? WOLF DOWN, Incendiary, and Blood Youth will unleash their pit-friendly riffs and sing-alongs upon you all. Don't forget to warm up before you mosh!
We're even more excited to announce political ska-core legends Choking Victim. It'll be their first time ever in Europe, so you know it's gonna be special!
There's more good news for you punks out there, too! None other than San Francisco's powerhouse Swingin' Utters will be joining us this year. These guys have already been going at it since the lates 80's and still show no signs of slowing down. And because you can never have enough Jack Dalrymple (musician) on your festival, we also added toyGuitar to the line-up.
Are you more into melodic punk rock? We got your beer-guzzling, sing-along needs covered with the likes of Red City Radio, Nothington and Mobina Galore. And we are sure that Zebrahead, Boston Manor and Call It Off will satisfy all the pop-punk fans out there.
You can also look forward to discovering metal/post-rock outfit Skyharbor, the first Indian band ever to grace our stage! Post-hardcore darlings mewithoutYou will bring their angular indie-rock to the festival. And you definitely should check out Trade Wind, a new rock band featuring members of Stick To Your Guns and Stray From The Path.
While you're at it, give Arcane Roots' mix of At The Drive In's grittiness and Biffy Clyro-style hooks a listen. And if you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and give 'Worry.' by the one and only Jeff Rosenstock a spin. It's only one of last year's best punk rock records.
Oh ... and look! We have a movie star at Groezrock. Counterfeit.
And last but definitely not least, we added some of Belgium's finest to the line-up. Cocaine Piss, BRUTUS, F.O.D. and Young Hearts have all released brilliant albums over the past 6 months or so. And we're damn proud to show you the very best our country has to offer.
There you have it. We will be adding one last band and then the line-up is complete. Don't snooze on buying your ticket or you will be too late. The VIP COMBI tickets have already sold out and the others are going fast as well.
GROEZROCK out.
