The Traceelords - Sex

We all know Sodom, don't we? And even though some of us may not be fans of theirs, we like them because they seem to know how to have fun, right? (Rhetorical question, once again I don't want any objections! ) Well, it seems that a former member of Sodom, guitarist Andy Brings (who now is also in Powergod), has done his best to help us have some fun. Firstly, he gathered people that have great energy. Secondly he named the band after a famous Porno Queen of the 80's and last but not least he and his band-mates wrote some catchy Rock 'N' Roll tunes.
The Germans start their CD with the self-titled song, a thrashing and dirty Rock 'N' Roll tune that shows everyone what the album is all about, by declaring I Want To Have Some Fun, Each And Every Night... Just gimme Sex, Money, Rock 'N' Roll!. The wild-party tunes continue, those that really stick out are Feel Like Charlie Brown (which is my favorite), the mid-tempo See You When I See You, Start It With A Kiss, Stop It With A Gun that has (as you can guess from the title) aggressive and sarcastic lyrics, the sweet tune You're My Baby and the parting-funny song All I Really Need... Is Your Phone Number Baby.
The big surprises of the album are the two brilliant covers. The one is Boney M.'s Daddy Cool. I really couldn't believe my ears. How can a Pop song be turned to something so heavy? Amazing! I shouldn't forget to give thumps up to the bassist, Guido Scholten,  for his playing in this one! The other cover is the 70's Disco-hit of Patrick Hernandez' Born To Be Alive played twice as fast.
In conclusion, Sex, Money, Rock 'N' Roll is a well-produced album with amazing energy made by people that want to have a give fun.... and yes, they fully accomplish that cause when I listen to it, it really improves my mood! Props to Andy and his gang!!! (Oh God, I really want to see those guys live!!!)
