SLIPKNOT: Plotting Movie & Upcoming Concept Album
August 13, 2015
The Iowa titans are set to take a couple of years off once their current touring schedule eases up ' but that hasn't stopped Corey and co. thinking ahead to their next release.
After percussionist Clown recently spoke out about Slipknot potentially writing a double concept album to follow-up last year's .5: The Gray Chapter, Corey has expanded on the idea ' and revealed that he's been in conversation with Clown and guitarist Jim Root about making a movie to tie-in with the record.
Speaking to Q103 Albany, Corey admitted: "Clown and I and Jim have been talking about what would be next. The idea we had was to come up with the concept, then provide the soundtrack for it. But I told them the other day, 'Let's take it even further. Let's make our Purple Rain, let's make our The Wall. With a movie ' not just the album, but do a movie.' They were pretty into it."
"It's going to be a few years before we even get into that," he added. "But the fact that we're laying the steps for it now just means that we're right back to where we were, which is five steps ahead of the game."'
