STEVE ROTHERY: To Release "Ghosts Of Pripyat" On Vinyl
July 8, 2015
Legendary Marillion guitarist and founding member Steve Rothery released his debut solo album 'The Ghosts of Pripyat' last year, following a highly successful Kickstarter campaign. InsideOutMusic gave the album a full CD release in February this year and now the album will finally be given a vinyl release on the 31st July 2015. Coming as a gatefold, heavyweight 180g 2LP with the album included on CD, you can now pre-order the record on black and clear vinyl versions from the InsideOut shop here: https://smarturl.it/SRB-IOMShop
The crowd-funding campaign for the album last year reached its target in just 24 hours, with Steve stating: 'I have been amazed and humbled at the support I've received.' It wasn't just the fans that helped create this album though, with two very special guest appearances from Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), and Steve Hackett (Genesis), who both lend their guitar playing skills to tracks on the album. The cover image of the album (which can be viewed above) is an aerial shot of Pripyat in Ukraine by French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand and the artwork is by the legendary Lasse Hoile.
The album received some fantastic reviews upon release, with Prog Magazine noting that "Rothery's guitar-hero stylings are both tasteful and taut", while Echoes & Dust called it "the perfect introduction to a talent whose indefatigable muse continues to serve up some truly extraordinary music."
