Almost two decades Morbide Festspiele are the most extreme event that you could find in Eastern Saxony. Sick stuff goes hand in hand with fast rattling hammering to let your ears effervescent bleed. The way of acting was strictly given up from the beginning - the first fest in 1996: Grindcore in its most perverted fields, enriched with brutal Death Metal and uncompromising Black Metal. Just for the real sickos - for you! The hall of fame is full to the brim with legendary and unforgotten performances of a legion of great acts: CSSO, Dead Infection, Agathocles, Marduk, Mayhem, Exhumed, Groinchurn, CBT, Extreme Noise Terror, Vomitory, Unholy Grave, Gut, Nunslaughter, Gronibard, Mucupurulent and so on!

Morbid will stay year by year the first weekend of September - and the route of march too, but latest in 2015 the question of what actually is still "morbid" became omnipresent. Does the terminus "extreme" still count for fast brutal'n'black'n'gore'n'grind'n'death-dribbling stuff? What has been irritating and shocking back in the good old nineties is now mutated to just a common, often repeated happening escorted by tons of new records year by year, to replaceable events done on so many stages everywhere. Morbus Maximus tries to get a bit further and searches for more extraordinary acts - this is just a new beginning to watch things different. There are more colors in music deserving nowadays the attribute "morbid", so these are focused without forgetting where the origins are.
