The legendary epic/progressive band from Italy, Dark Quarterer (formed in 1980) will have their 6th full-length album released by Metal on Metal Records on April 24th. "Ithaca" is a concept album inspired by the 1911 poem of the same title by a Greek poet, Konstantinos P. Kavafis (Constantine P. Cavafy), which utilized Odysseus's travel from the Trojan Wars back to his home island as a metaphor for the journey of life, where the goal is not important, but the journey itself. Stylistically, it's a mix of '80s epic heavy metal with '70s progressive rock, and some elements of doom. According to the label, "Dark Quarterer's music is very warm, full of various emotions and moods, much thanks to the impressive vocals, ranging from mystical and fragile, through more eccentric singing and falsettos, to full-on powerful metal delivery. Overall, it's the most versatile album of this band that has developed and maintained their unique recognizable style, which should appeal to fans of Adramelch, Manilla Road, Thunder Rider, Slough Feg, Hammers OF Misfortune, Vavel, Cirith Ungol, as well as Italian prog rock bands like The Trip, Goblin, Museo Rosenbach, or Biglietto Per L'Inferno."

A short promo clip for "Ithaca" album (featuring a fragment of "Night Song") can be viewed on YouTube, while two full songs, "Escape" and "Last Fight", have been made available for streaming both on the label's YouTube channel and from the Bandcamp player on the Dark Quarterer page.
