Portuguese death/groovemetal actMONOLYTHwill release its debut album"Origin"inOctober 10. To celebrate the moment, the band will get on stage in the same day at Bar do Estudante (21h30 WET), in Aveiro, with their countrymenREVOLUTION WITHIN,KRITTER,TERROR EMPIREandSOTZ. Tickets available at the venue for 5€ (12€ w/ CD, 15€ w/ t-shirt, 20€ w/ CD + t-shirt).
"Origin"was recordedinAudioplay/Palco CentralStudios, in Portugal, with producersAndrés MaltaandAndré Rodrigues, this latest being responsible for the mixing and mastering inFullpower Studios. The record alsocomprises special featurings byAndré Macedo[COLOSSO, ex-NEBULOUS] andAndrés Malta[MUNCHIES, ex-BEAUTIFUL VENOM] on the tracks"Fake Symptom"and"Denied And Broken", respectively.

MONOLYTHclaims their sound to be a diverse and noxious mixtureof many of their main inspirations such asLAMB OF GOD,MESHUGGAH,GOJIRA,MACHINE HEAD,DEVIN TOWNSENDandmany others.The band was formed byguitaristTiago Martinsand drummerVictor Butucaround 2009. After playing together and jamming for some months, the search for a lead vocalist startedand ended up with(MP)Marcelotaking the place, followed by their first bass playerPedro Maiaand guitaristGonçalo Lemos. FollowingMaia'sdeparture in February 2012,João Motajoined band. After playing the songs that would end up in their first album for about a year and a half,they experiencedyet another line-up changeandDavid Alvesbecomes the band's new bass player inJuly 2013.
