No Compromise
Since The Flood

It has been four years since SINCE THE FLOOD (sounds a bit funny, huh?) released their debut album Valor And Vengeance (2003), an album that received positive feedback from the press. Many people were trying to realize what hit them when they were listening to that album. Now, SINCE THE FLOOD return with their second full-length work, something that reveals many things about a band, things like if they are able to continue with the success of their first album or if they will just disappear.
Formed in 2002, the Hardcore act SINCE THE FLOOD left behind the Metalcore scene of Massachusetts/Hampshire (where groups like UNEARTH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and SHADOWS FALL come from) and concentrated more on aggression and catchy yet brutal Hardcore music. Their debut album, Valor And Vengeance was issued through Ironclad Recordings and had created a fuss regarding the band. Now, with No Compromise SINCE THE FLOOD want to show that their debut album's success was not luck but a result of hard work and talent.
No Compromise is an album that has been produced by a band with really big balls and this is obvious right from the start. This band's aggressiveness can't really be described. Imagine a very nice mix between HATEBREED, MADBALL and CATARACT. These guys really know how to kick ass! I am just pissed off with some people that describe SINCE THE FLOOD as a Metalcore band! Where the fuck do you see melody and shitty stuff in this band? The only things that you will find in this album are the fast and brutal outbreaks, the slow catchy tunes and Luke's relentless drumming! Not to mention Chuck's vocals! This guy really spits poison in every single word! In the specific genre, you know exactly what to expect and these guys seem willing to offer it to you. When it is about Hardcore, you know that there will be no fresh and different ideas and progressive stuff, just brutal and honest music. I don't think I have to make any comments on the production, a classic one for this kind of music, heavy and raw. The only thing that annoys me doesn't have to do with the band but with the label. Enough with the Hardcore and the Metalcore signings! What is wrong with Metal Blade? I can understand that especially Metalcore is a popular genre nowadays and sells, but what about other stuff? Thank god there is AMON AMARTH to save the day for this label!
If you are an easy listener or you are looking for different stuff, this album is definitely NOT for you. Fans of Hardcore and aggressive music, a good choice for you to spend your money on. I think that this album will not disappoint you at all! As for me, I am going to listen to it for some more time...
