May 1, 2014
Heavy metal cultistsCASTLEwill release their third album,Under Siege, in Europe via Ván Records onMay 16. The eight-track release was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, Calif. with producer Billy Anderson (Sleep, Neurosis), with whom they previously collaborated on their acclaimed Juno-nominated 2012 releaseBlacklands.
Pyramid Lake, the second single from the album is streaming now thanks to Music & Riots MagazineHERE.
The band comments on the track, "We're excited to unleash the next single fromUnder Siege. This was one of the first tracks written for the album and along withTemple of the Lostis one of the cornerstones of the record musically. The lyrics are inspired from an old Indian legend of Pyramid Lake near where we live in Northern California. The story goes the people of the tribe that lived around the lake would offer newborns to appease the serpent mother, the possessed spirit of the lake. It started from that and we put our own spin on it! I think the music adds to the story and helps weave the wickedness in a not-so-subtle way."
