SKAM: Start 2014 With A New Worldwide Record Deal, A New Single "Rivers" And Hit The Road Again This Feb
February 8, 2014
Powerhouse Leicester 3-piece Skam kick off 2014 in fine style with the worldwide release of new single 'Rivers' on February 24th. The track is taken from the forthcoming 2nd album 'Peacemaker' - set for a July 28th worldwide release, via their new label deal with Off Yer Rocka Recordings. A killer live band, they will be hitting the road again on a run of UK dates in February.
Skam continue to wear their influences on their sleeves - from Sabbath and QOTS through Foo Fighters, AC/DC, the fuzziest of the grunge era bands and even some cosmic Prog breakdowns. All tied together with their own, wickedly infectious grooves.
The band ended 2013 on a real high finishing at #30 in Classic Rock Magazines fan voted Tracks Of The Year list; https://www.classicrockmagazine.com/features/songs-of-the-year-top-50/ - The track - 'Massacre' - taken from their debut album 'Its Come To This' saw them feature in among the likes of Black Sabbath and Motorhead. No mean feat for a self-funded, self-motivated, self-everything , DIY to the core band who have been given great support already from the fine people at Planet Rock Radio, Classic Rock Magazine, Kerrang Magazine, XFM Rock Show, Kerrang Radio and Scuzz TV among others.
The new record has been produced by Matt Ellis who was of course at the helm on the debut long player. That record, with its two killer singles; No Lies and Massacre captured the rawness, the depth and the sheer no nonsense good times that Skam also bring to their live shows. It was something the band were keen to keep in the mix. "The New SKAM album is a culmination of 2 years on the road and our desire to just put out the music we love. We have a huge array of different influences and we don't hide behind them. We are ROCK fans. It's that simple. Between us we have a deep love for nearly all guitar driven rock!" - Matt Gilmore
SKAM are bigger, louder, and a lot more fun than a three piece should be! Get along and see them now if you don't want to miss out! – Luke Morley, The Union / Thunder
