Solitaire - Extremely Flammable album cover

THRAAAAASHSHSH!!!! What the hell?!?!?! Yeah, the fuckin' 'head that doesn't bang', will surely be torn apart from the neck, thrown into the walls and bleed 'till total death!!! I can't believe that in year 2004 a band from Finland delivers that pure fuckin' speed/thrash Armageddon, kind of never nearly heard for 15 years now!!!! Leave me alone, wanna bang my fuckin' head more and more! Whachasay...
THRAAAAASHSHSH!!!
What's that lunatic???, the unfaithful should fairly wonder? I'll nail you down, my friends, I'll surely do! So, let's stay calm and you 'all witness the light... Solitaire is a Finnish band formed back in 1995 with a mere purpose: Solitaire keeps the spirit of the 80's alive taking their music back to the original Heavy Metal roots with more aggressive and fierce approach. It's fast... it's loud... and it's rude! - Velocity is the onward taking force, succinctly the band states. Also Exciter, Agent Steel, Razor and half bands of the whole mid-80's Euro-Thrash genre, I should add. The walls first came tumbling down with the band's Rising To The Challenge (2002) debut CD, making me nervous 'bout what this 5-piece clan could establish. And there we are, it's autumn now and hell broke lose from early September!!!
So, what the hell do we have here (my ears, still bleeding...)? I consider myself (apart from a scum) a very hard-approaching listener nowadays. Too much shit, all of them in the name of True Heavy Metal, making me sometimes reconsidering what's all about when a band starts playing music. The tragedy is done in one album; forget the 80's where capable bands remained without a contract for years, blowing their asses off trying to win over the average record-company-manager-asshole so as to get offered the prospect of releasing their virgin vinyl. Thus...I'm really glad that Solitaire's music is around and I'm pleased to announce that Extremely Flammable is a KILLER!!! From the opening attack of Countdown and the same-titled storm-riffed warfare to the pure holocaust of Metalsquad and the mayhemic overdrive of I Won't Come In Peace, this CD really blows your brains out in 37 minutes (the average duration of the average 80's speed/thrash anthem - OK, don't judge from that...). The vocals are rather typical - without mentioning something negative, of course - the guitar work is simply HELLISH AMAZING, the 4-string blasting electrifies your inner self, while the drums really discharges merciless onslaught, transporting the supremacy and the energy needed for the whole band, contributing the most in this really awesome release, a must for every 80's speed/thrash fan. Really in the vain of Exciter and Razor, this Finnish outfit is the best medication for anyone addicted to speed as it was played 15-20 years ago, never betraying their influences but still being heard that fresh and not (fake) True!
Solitaire performed live in Germany's Keep It True 2003 festival, leaving the best of impressions. This dominant release brings them more upwards in the ears of the wanna-hear-something-in-my-face metalheads. Grab it guys, grab it!!! This band will definitely make you (in contrast with the originators) bang that head that doesn't bang!!!
Like the old fuckin' days...
