If you haven't heard of Silent Force, you'll surely have heard of their singer, who is no other than D.C. Cooper (ex-Royal Hunt). After breaking up with them, he and guitarist Alex Beyrodt (Sinner, Primal Fear) joined forces to create Silent Force. Now after one album ("The Empire Of The Future) and a tour with Stratovarius, they now release a second album, titled "Infatuator.
Silent Force play power metal with many classic elements as well, with their influences ranging from Judas Priest (for example, the title track) to Helloween and Stratovarius. The dominant feature of this album is D.C. Cooper's magnificent and characteristic voice, which gives the songs another dimension. His performance varies from deep and "warm vocals (e.g. in "Hear Me Calling and the beautiful "Last Time) to high-pitched voice (e.g. in the title-track and the Judas Priest cover "All Guns Blazing). The second "pillar of the band is the excellent guitar player, Alex Beyrodt, who makes the song sound like the good-ole guitar-virtuoso metal of the 80's! The 2 frontmen are surrounded by a very good Keyboard player and a strong rhythm section.
Although D.C. Cooper is a missing part of Royal Hunt, with his new band, and this excellent album surely won't be a missing part of the whole metal community!
