Metal comes from many countries...every month. One country though, seems to be always active and that's none other than Sweden!

Supreme Majesty after releasing a Mini CD album in 1999 (Divine Enigma) with Loud N' Proud Records, decided to jump to Massacre Records and release the album that I'm reviewing right now, called Tales of a Tragic Kingdom.

We're talking about an album with a crystal clear production (sometime's that's hard to find) and 10 tracks circling around a thematology lots of bands have sunken into, mythological fantasies of ancient kingdoms. Well, I don't think that's something bad. Thematology always was a testament for most artists around the world...

Supreme Majesty play Power Metal (might remind you of Stratovarius sometimes) with some Heavy elements found mostly in the guitaristic part. Joakim Olsson's voice is satisfying but I swear this guy can do better! He is a promising singer and he will succeed but he has to try.

Guitars, drums and bass sound ok even though I noticed that the bass is a bit lost in the production even though the whole thing is crystal clear (did I tell you I love crystal clear productions? hehe). I really love the keys in this band! They take me back to all the great keyboards of the 80's but with a more clear sound. They also manage to make you think you're listening to trumpets of glory...or something like that!

In general, the band plays Power Metal but it's not quite the typical Power Metal band you'd get bored of listening to. They've got this Heavy touch too and some good ideas to present too! I immediatelly loved Eye of the Storm, Forever I'll be (both songs are softer than the rest), Queen of Egypt (the initial riff reminds me a bit of Iron Maiden's Powerslave lol) and Strike Like Thunder. These four songs are by my opinion four songs I'd like to play from this album.

Supreme Majesty prove that if there is will and inspiration...even in these so confusing days we live in, there's Music.
