On Saturday, November 22 Maria Brink of In This Moment brought her "Black Widow" Tour to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.  The Sherman Theater was packed with metalheads just waiting to be "infected" by this badass bombshell.

3 Pill Morning was the first opener for this show. This band is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The rock infused four some who dressed in black button down shirts and ties (minus the drummer in a white button down) was not so much metal, but more of a standard rock band. The lead vocalist had a typical rock voice, that didn't really stand out for me. He did bring in a little grunge/scream every once in a while, but nothing much. The band could be described in the likes of Breaking Benjamin or Three Days Grace. They were high energy and good at what they love doing.

The next opener was called Starset. They arrived on stage with the drummer and guitarists wearing lit up blue masks. The blue masks added a little something different to this tech metal band, but I'm not sure they were absolutely necessary. There was one thing that did stand out for me, a female cellist/violinist. The vocalist often switched between singing and almost dj-ing of some sort. The highlight of their performance was the solo the cellist performed as cheers arose from the crowd and the band reappeared unveiling their newest single.

Hailing from Australia, Twelve Foot Ninja was the last of the support acts. They were extremely high energy, especially the front man. They had a groovy Jamaican, Reggae feel thrown into a heavy rock vibe. This was a band that was interesting and fun and something I never expected when they graced the stage. They weren't a band I loved because I felt the genre was confused but they were not boring by any means.

Then the moment everyone had been waiting for, or so we thought. After about forty minutes In This Moment finally made their presence known. Unveiling the stage with the dropping of a huge white sheet imprinted with a black widow spider, which was relevant as it was the "Black Widow Tour." The show began with lead vocalist Maria Brink telling the audience that "she wanted them to experience the show." Then appeared Brink opening the show with "Sick Like Me." Although I was personally slightly disappointed with Brink's live vocal ability, the visual aspect of the show was fantastic. With costume changes for almost every other song for not only Maria, but her backup dancers and many different props throughout, the audience was always on the edge of their seats waiting for what was to come.
