A night of high explosive thrash brought into one building can only spell disaster, or in this case DESTRUCTION!!

It is very rare to see such a lineup play Manchester England as whenever a lineup such as this comes our way we would have to travel all the way to London city to witness such an event, but for the first time in a long time we see the mighty German Thrash Machine DESTRUCTION stand up high on the stage of the Manchester Sound Control. A venue which has gained popularity with fans of all kinds and of all ages, with the rise of the Sound Control venue we see bigger and more exciting tours hit our town more and more, and this time around we achieved one of the mighty Teutonic four, the mighty DESTRUCTION!!!!

The show started with Belgium speed freaks EVIL INVADERS. This would be my first time watching these guys, and to be honest I am hoping it will not be my last, as they took the stage they made it clear that their mission was for that night, to bring fast, heavy and relentless riffs to the audience of Manchester. I must say that I was very impressed by their performance as it had what every Thrash fan is looking for in a new band to get into, they have the sound, they have the attitude and they have the insanity to push forward, I was mainly at the barrier for these guys and honestly I enjoyed every minute of their set with my eyes glued to the stage, I would definitely suggest these guys to any mad Thrashers reading.

The next band to take the stage are a band I am quite familiar with as I met them prior to this show back in January at the Camden Underworld for their support slot with Greek Thrashers SUICIDEANGELS, the one, the only LOST SOCIETY. Now these guy are completely nuts, and I mean that in the nicest way possible, these guys have everything a band needs and much more, not only did they keep to their usual routine of madness on stage you saw guitarist Slash's vocalist Samy Elbanna snap the headstock clean off of his guitar and still maintaining to shred like a mad bastard of speed, LOST SOCIETY are a band that you just cannot hate, not only are they incredible live but they are by far some of the nicest guys you will ever meet in your lifetime. All in all their set won over a whole new crowd and for it being their first ever Manchester show I think it shows that they will be back for more.

Unfortunately I was unable to catch all of SHRAPNEL's set due to Interviews and such but from what I saw they are still growing strong, from the time that I saw them opening for OVERKILL I can honestly say that they are a powerful and reliable band live, they know how to keep the audience happy and to give them what they want, a band I would honestly check out and see if you haven't heard of them.

Setlist:
1. Kingdom Come
2. Red Terror
3. Pseudocommando
4. Eternal War
5. Braindead
6. Warhead

Last but certainly not least ladies and gentlemen we finish the night off with by far one of the most high intense bands I have ever seen live, the myth, the legend, the war machine that is DESTRUCTION!!. As the band appeared on stage the audience was already pacing themselves for what was about to come, as with any Thrash show of this magnitude you know what to expect, the pure brutality that comes with a band of this caliber. This would be my first time ever to witness such aggression and anger compressed into the canister that is Schirmer, one of the most brutal front men in Thrash brings his anger and hate onto the battlefield and gathers the troops into battle for a night of Destructive force. Inside the pit you didn't know who was who and where the hell you were, it was like being caught in a dust storm blind to any obstacle that came your way, the heat souring through the room like an oven on max, truly this was a battlefield and the more I stayed the more I saw, this was by far a show that I am glad I could see. In all honesty it was pure chaos and I was loving every second of this new experience, DESTRUCTION keep to their legendary status as one of Thrash's mighty, and with a fist raised high we enter the last song of the evening, and a fitting one at that if I may say, The Butcher Strikes Back!

So to conclude. This was a rare occurrence for Manchester, to see DESTRUCTION do a UK run is pretty awesome, and with any hope they will do it again, it was one of the strongest shows I have ever been to, though with all good things they must come to an end which is a shame if you think about it, but as they say there will always be next time. But still if your look for a night of extreme aggressive music and fast riffs then look no further then DESTRUCTION, because without a doubt they will never disappoint.
