Another very good event in Rio de Janeiro, but this one has a special commentary that Big Daddy here will do after the review, so, stay tuned (and read all the text until its end, please).
Opening the event, the Omega Legion from LAND OF TEARS entered the stage.
It was the one of the first shows promoting the band's new release, the album "The Ancient Ages of Mankind", and the entire setlist was based on it (maybe due the band had little time to play), with excellent songs like "Cerberus", "Mega Alexandros" and "Omega Legions". It was the first show with S. Vianna back on the bass guitar, but in some moment, Marco Anvito, the album's producer and HICSOS' bassist and vocalist, came to the stage and played one song as a special guest. Of course, the public hailed the band, but there was not many fans inside the venue at that time.
The band posture on stage is very good, but it seemed that, due the breakthrough with Vianna's return, the band felt it. But hope some more shows will put some oil in the machine. It's very good, but they can do better and the sound quality could be a bit better as well.
Welcome back to the front, Robson Night Arrow (vocals, rhythm guitar), Leandro Xsa (guitars), S. Vianna (bass) and Orion Gobath (drums).
Setlist:
1. Intro
2. Colossus
3. Old Legends
4. Cerberus
5. Mega Alexandros
6. Pentekontoros
7. Omega Legions
Soon after some preparations, it was time for Brazilian Thrash Metal assassins from NERVOSA come to the stage and start a true Metal carnage!
These girls know how to make an aggressive, fast and brutal Thrash Metal, having a great posture on the stage (the bassist/vocalist Fernanda Lira is totally insane on the stage, playing, singing, rioting, with excellent communication with the public), and a set of excellent songs, as "Justice Be Done", "Into Mosh Pit" (how Prika Amaral plays wild riffs and solos! Her work is supernatural, something amazing!), the savage and destructive "Death" and "Victim of Yourself" (Pitchu Ferraz plays her drums in a heavy way, with very good technique, seeming a little to be in the same style of Chris Witchhunter), all from their first album, "Victim of Yourself", but of course they played one from their first Demo/EP, "2012", the hymn "Masked Betrayer", where a good part of the public became insane on mosh pit.
The public became insane in many moments, and applauded them a lot at the end of their show (and they deserved it a lot). And have NERVOSA lots of charisma and sympathy to the public on stage, but their show put great amounts of pressure over the shoulders of TOXIC HOLOCAUST guys.
Setlist:
1. Twisted Values
2. Justice Be Done
3. Into Mosh Pit
4. Envious
5. Morbid Courage
6. Death
7. Urânio em Nós
8. Victim of Yourself
9. Masked Betrayer
And as the guys from LACERATED AND CARBONIZED got on the stage and unleashed their brutal Third World Death Metal, the pressure above the North American trio got on extreme levels!
Yes, because the quartet became more experienced due some shows on East Europe, so seeing them again after some months became something extremely good.
Jonathan Cruz (vocals) is becoming one of the best singers of Brazilian Death Metal, as a great frontman, creating strong synergy with the public, communicating very well. Caio Mendonça (guitars) is a savage on the stage, playing great riffs and having good attitude on stage, as Paulo Doc (bass, backing vocals) do the same. And Victor Mendonça (drums) is a little monster, with great technique and keeping the rhythmic basis strong and heavy.
The band played songs from "The Core of Disruption", their latest album, as "L. A. C.", the brutal and grasping "Third World Slavery" and "Awake the Thirsty", but some songs from the first album, "Homicidal Rapture" as "Seeds of Hate" and the killing "Chainsaw Deflesher". And the public asked for more, so they played two more songs, and were hailed as heroes.
And to be honest, LACERATED AND CARBONIZED guys are truly Metal heroes, and are ready to conquest the world. And they put more pressure above TOXIC HOLOCAUST.
Setlist:
1. L. A. C.
2. Third World Slavery
3. Awake the Thirst

Closing the night, was time for TOXIC HOLOCAUST to deal with the great pressure the bands who played earlier in the night put over their shoulders, but unfortunately, the band couldn't…
The band is not bad at all, did a good show, their attitude on stage is good, their songs are fine, with Joel Grind (vocals, guitars), Philthy Gnaast (bass) and Nikki Rage (drums, and a very good drummer, for he had to deal with a broken pedal during their show), but as NERVOSA and LACERATED AND CARBONIZED made excellent and perfect shows, it seemed better if TOXIC HOLOCAUST had opened the night. But don't get the wrong idea: Big Daddy didn't say that the band didn't perform a good show, it's the opposite of that, but the previous bands came off way better than the North American trio, just that.
But to public, they enjoyed their show, had a good time on songs like "Death Brings Death", "War is Hell", "Gravelord", and "Wild Dogs". Joel has a good attitude and communicates a lot with public, Gnaast is insane on the stage, and Nikki is a very good drummer (maybe his coming to the band on 2009 made the band's albums improve a lot). And of course when they played their most famous song, "Nuke the Cross", and made an encore with "Metal Attack" and "Bitch", the public went insane and hailed them a lot.
The band has good points, and made a good show, but I expected a little more of them. Maybe they were a bit tired from previous shows in Brazil.
Setlist:
1. Awaken the Serpent
2. In the Name of Science
3. Reaper's Grave
4. Death Brings Death
5. I Am Disease
6. War Is Hell
7. Endless Armageddon
8. 666
9. Agony of the Damned
10. Gravelord
11. Acid Fuzz
12. Deny the Truth
13. Wild Dogs
14. The Lord of the Wasteland
15. Nuke the Cross
Encore:
16. Metal Attack
17. Bitch
The negative point of the night: During TOXIC HOLOCAUST show, a Brazilian guy who played with them on the past, got on stage and started a sad and miserable speech. I won't mention his name or his band, because it's his will at last (his words made it clear), but I personally think this isn't a way to be underground, Metal or anything like that. It's the way of being a puppet on the strings of someone, for I've heard these words many times… But no matter how many time you say it or the times you spoke it, a lie still's a lie…
Congratulations to Fame Enterprises, as well to Teatro Odisséia and the bands for another very good show.
