Separation Anxiety

For me, DEATH was a band that started it all. My passion for Metal. My passion for guitars and was my real opening shot of becoming a musician. But before everything, the band DEATH revealed me a new world of the subgenre Death Metal - the crushing, powerful, amazing Death Metal subgenre. Subculture. Even, I might dare to say, a whole new lifestyle.
Let's start from the aspect of the performers in this amazing evening we had. Featuring the band SEPARATION ANXIETY as the band that will perform the covers with many guests. I can say, this band rocked the Old school Death Metal like DEATH before, and I wouldn't think of anyone more deserve in whole of Israel to play in a tribute than this band.
Before the start of the show in the great venue called The Barby Club - a place for alternative culture as well as mainstream culture of Israel, they held a drummers lesson by Hannes Grossman, and he talked a lot about techniques of drumming in Metal. Excuse me for being anything but a drummer, I followed most of what he said but lost him from time to time. Except for listening to this lecture, I enjoyed as much as the lecture from the drum solos he performed in that lesson. Even the fact that I am not a drummer, listening to this brilliant musician gave me something much bigger than just few more tools to write down drums. It gave me motivation. It inspired me for more music to be created at my home studio. It brought the depths of the biggest names in the subgenre Death Metal into my own sight and my own hearing, and gave me even more tools for life.
Let's start from the main aspect of the band that performed during all the evening - SEPARATION ANXIETY. Those guys rocked before, but they rocked even harder this evening. Their style is similar to DEATH, and the lord will forgive me - They are probably as good as DEATH Themselves, because when I heard and saw them performing live at the Barby Club, I had no doubt - this is the greatest replacement of the band DEATH I could see in my own eyes, for my entire life. I was definitely not disappointed.
Performing Yotam Defiler always amazes me, every time, again and again. His powerful voice, and strong stage performance delivers you exactly what it's all about - Death Fucking Metal. No compromises. No thoughts. No Questions. Ben Saada, However, gives a higher tone in vocals which is very likely to the later albums of Death, making him the perfect vocalist to perform songs from "Human" and etc.
Summing up everything in few decent words, I dare to say - Chuck Schuldiner himself watched at us from his cloud and grinned.
