Joey Jordison's side project SCAR THE MARTYR have only released one album but are already well loved by the public. The Metal supergroup comprised of ex members of various bands such as DARKEST HOUR, SLIPKNOT and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD are embarking on their first world tour and it's bound to be a hit when you can really sense each members individual influence within the group.

The opening band is local group WITH SILENT EYES, the support only being announced a day before. It begins with only a small crowd with the doors only just being opened but they surely get the crowd warmed up for the rest of the bands. Nearing the end of their set playing songs from their latest E.P ''Destroyer Of Worlds'' everyone is pumped and the mosh pits are flowing.

It's known that it's risky to book bands out of the headline band's genre; it can either work or fail miserably. THE HELL are proof that you should pick something as close as you can if you have to pick something different. Unlike the previous band they are not metal core and they aren't Metal like the head liners, they are a London Hardcore group which is obvious not to fit in with the crowd. All members have their faces covered with bandana's and are all 'anonymous' no one knows who they are but one thing for sure is that they definitely have a stage presence. If you want to hear what TRC would sound like on cocaine and was all angry at their family's then THE HELL are for you. Put these at a TRASH TALK show and they are right at home but at a SCAR THE MARTYR show they stick out like a sore thumb.

After a bit of a delay headline band SCAR THE MARTYR finally play.75% of the crowd are wearing some sort of SLIPKNOT merchandise even though Joey Jordison has just departed the band but the crowd is still ecstatic to see him drumming. Vocalist Henry Derek is energetic and running all over the stage at every single chance he can get and even then he is screaming down the microphone. He is a truly great vocalist and knows exactly what he is doing when he gets on stage. Lead guitarist Jed Simon (ex-STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) knows how to work an astonishing solo into every song such as ''Soul Disintegration'' and ''Blood Host'' he really knows how to please a crowd. The rest of the band also contribute greatly to the performance all bringing their own techniques. Their only and newest album is the only material played by the band, no other bands being mentioned at all when the bands spoke either. The band close the gig but are brought back by a lengthy encore from the crowd, SCAR THE MARTYR give their own distinct take on KILLING JOKE'S ''Complications'' which goes down a treat with the crowd.

To say the band have been under a lot of media scrutiny lately due to Jordison leaving SLIPKNOT and the crowd shouting SLIPKNOT related phrases the band have handled everything excellently. SCAR THE MARTYR have something which every new band is missing. All of the band's combined experience give the show such an old school experience that it can't be compared with anything else.
