Sunday night is usually the night my "rotten" body ends up sitting its fat ass on a chair relaxing from the shit its been through all the week. Music and movies will accompany me through the night I guess. Nah, what the fuck? There's a local live downtown and many friends are gonna be there! With no time to lose let's head down to Seven Sins Club to see what going on.

I was pretty sure that the attendance would be just fine, and it proved I was right, since many metalheads, friends of the bands or complete strangers, were out of the club waiting for the doors to open. With only a slight delay, we went it, grabbed a cold beer and were ready to enjoy FULL HOUSE BREW CREW. I happened to listen to some of their songs online and was curious to see them on stage. The guys seem like a really tight band, and their BLACK LABEL SOCIETY meets METALLICA groovy sound probably earned them some new fans, since nobody could resist moving his head up and down along their down tuned guitars. A really good band, and their music definitely something that is not played by many Greek bands.

The next band was my personal favorite KARMA VIOLENS. These guys seem to get better and better as time goes by, and with the addition of a second guitarist (Costas Papadopoulos) they sound heavier than ever! The crowd seemed to love their aggressive and brutal Metal sound with the Core influences, although I would like to see a bit more energetic audience. The guys from the band didn't seem to bother giving their own little party on stage, moving around the stage all the time and proving that they are a hell of a live act! With songs from their newly recorded "Dormancy" album (the guys are searching for a label to release it), a SLAYER cover ("Raining Blood") and a medley of songs like MAYHEM's "Freezing Moon" and BLACK SABBATH's "Symptom Of The Universe", KARMA VIOLENS gave their best to please the people who were there that night. And if that wasn't enough, the band ended its set with "Into The Core", with MORTAL TORMENT's John "Remedy" hitting the stage with a totally "kinky" dress, reindeer's horns and fluffy slippers and screaming his lungs out!

Last, but definitely not least, we have NEED, a band I have been "watching" since its first demo and I can't hide that I am a huge fan of these guys. Starting as a pure Progressive act and featuring groovier, more aggressive and modern elements as time went by, the quintet from Athens tipped us with songs from its 2006 demo like "Twinsoul" (the song that made me love this band in the first place), some songs from their debut album ("Sea Of Lost Faces", "7H" & "Stroll Of Choice"), as well as stuff from their latest work (2009) "Siamese God". Even though there were a few sound problems at the beginning of their set, it was getting better as time went by. With an energetic stage presence and the band in a really good shape and with lots of experiences from its recent tour with JON OLIVA'S PAIN, the audience seemed to have a really good time with some headbanging and singing along. By the way, I heard that these guys are preparing some killer new songs. Let's wait and see (or hear)!

Damn! What a perfect night! Good friends, good bands and cold beers! And most of all, many people decided to pay a visit to the club and watch these bands perform, so there's still hope for the underground scene. Horns up brothers & sisters! See you at the next local show!
