To tell the truth I wasn't anticipating attending this concert. I've watched SCORPIONS so many times in the past that I wouldn't go if I had something better to do… Also, I was pretty sure that the setlist would be pretty much predictable and the majority of the crowd would have no idea of the band and of the music in general apart from the hits "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "Wind Of Change".

It was about time for TROUBLEMAKERS to hit the stage… They played a couple of their own songs and did some covers. As far as I remember they did "Give Me All Your Love" and "Still Of The Night" from WHITESNAKE, DEEP PURPLE's "Soldier Of Fortune" (holy shit…they shouldn't) and BON JOVI's "It's My Life". Here, I have to mention that Mr. Coverdale has a really great voice and the songs that he sings are pretty challenging… So, they should think twice about doing them next time… It's not the best solution to let the crowd sing all the "difficult" parts. Oh, I almost forgot…there were also four girls playing some violin and stuff. This was pretty interesting, but not something to go crazy at.

FIREWIND is definitely not in the list of the bands that I like… Generally, this genre is not my cup of tea… But there were people who liked their show pretty much. They also did a cover on Michael Sembello's "Maniac" which I found very nice. The sound wasn't good at all but still they tried hard. It would be better for them to play in a smaller venue with their own fans.

FIREWIND setlist:

  1. "Head Up High'
  2. "Destination Forever"
  3. "Angels Forgive Me"
  4. "Set The World On Fire"
  5. Guitar solo
  6. "Firewind Raging"
  7. "Till The End Of Time"
  8. "My Loneliness"
  9. "Mercenary Man"
  10. "Maniac"
  11. "I Am The Anger"
  12. "Falling To Pieces"

Finally, SCORPIONS hit the stage with "Sting In The Tail" from their self-titled album. Then "Make It Real", "Bad Boys Running Wild" and "The Zoo" that were enough to make us sing loud and bang our heads. They were in great shape, not to mention James Kottak's drum kit that was hanging some feet above the ground and after a while it "landed" on the stage… This guy is crazy… really! Generally, their show included songs like "Dynamite", "Loving You Sunday Morning", "Blackout", "Coast To Coast", "Tease Me Please Me", "Big City Nights" as well as some songs from their new album and of course the all-time-classics "Wind Of Change", "Still Loving You", "Send Me An Angel" and "Holiday". It also included the classic drum solo that is the part that I hate in every gig… but that time they did something interesting; there were some huge monitors in the back of the stage, that during the concert were showing the band as well as some moments from their past. So, during the drum solo they were showing short stories from the covers of some of their albums starring James Kottak and his wife which I found really interesting and a very nice work as well. There was also a Matthias Jabs' solo that I have nothing specific to say about. The sound wasn't that good during the live and I don't know why.

In the end, SCORPIONS said goodbye to us (until they change their minds of course) with an enjoyable live that didn't include a surprise or anything really memorable, but it was definitely a show that everybody had a good time… Farewell…
