Well, this was not a full length concert. It was a special show organized by the Greek editions of MTV and Rockhard magazine that was open for 30 lucky metalheads who won on the respective competition. METAL TEMPLE had the chance to attend this special show thanks to the band's tour manager Peter.

Taking into consideration the small attendance and the acoustic set the small venue turned to be most appropriate for this special concert. There were two cameras set to film the band's performance on MTV's account making us feeling a little bit awkward since this kind of arrangements are not in the daily round of the Greek metalhead. It was funny to see everyone whispering and and looking around as if this was their first time inside this venue. So, after some logical advices not to speak during the set and turn off our cell phones the Swedish band entered the stage earning a warm applaud. Already familiar to this type of shows EVERGREY tried to break the ice and advised us to sing and clap during their short set.

The first tune we got was Torn from their latest album that sounded pretty much different from the original version. I think that EVERGREY have the gift to give the certain dynamics in to a song that are taken away through the lack of the guitar distortion and the loud volume from the speakers. Soaked was next and here Tom asked us to clap our hands to the rhythm making us feeling more comfortable. It was bizarre -at least- having in front of you a Metal band and between the songs not to hear a single whisper. But this also enhanced the great atmosphere that I bet here in Greece we won't experience many times...

The lucky audience became a little bit bolter during As I Lie Bleeding that sounded as good as the electric version. Tom has a great voice and with during the acoustic version got more space to shine and in this song he did! There were additional vocal melodies added here that are difficult to discover in the original version. Next, was I'm Sorry; in this one everyone joined the nice tempo by clapping hands and singing the chorus lines. This acoustic version is also available as a bonus track in the Inner Circle album so, the die hard fans in the audience were already familiar. Time literally flew by and the time for the last song of this excellent show had come. EVERGREY chose to do Waking Up Blind from Inner Circle. This song came as strong as it did in the band's live performance filmed for the A Night to Remember DVD release.

If one asked to choose the acoustic or the electric show from EVERGREY I wouldn't be able to answer immediately. The acoustic show was something totally new to me and thus left a burning mark in my heart. I just wish this will happen again in the near future with more people attending and a longer setlist.

EVERGREY acoustic setlist:

01. Torn
02. Soaked
03. As I Lie Here Bleeding
