[Harry]: It was a nice afternoon, this Saturday, for a concert. But even though the ticket wasn't expensive and the concert wasn't that late, I counted the turnout and I found out that no more than 50 people was outside An Club just 20 minutes before the first band hit the stage. Fortunately, things were a little bit better as the gig went on.

After the usual delay for the Greek standards (the gig was supposed to start at 20:00 but started at 21:00), INSIDEAD - the opening act - was on stage. 150 metalheads were at the club at that time. The sound wasn't that good but the band played really well. To tell you the truth, it was the first time that I listened to their material and all I can say is that it is a very interesting band. Drawing influences from SEPULTURA, SOULFLY and the new Metal scene from bands like SLIPKNOT, they managed to gain some more fans, including me. Playing songs from their promo CD, like In My World and Have No Fear (which also is the first video for the band) and having a nice onstage performance, they managed to warm up the crowd.
After 40 minutes or so it was time for the second band, NORDOR, to hit the stage. With a little help from Fotis

(SEPTIC FLESH) behind the drum kit, they tried to keep the audience in good shape, with their Death Metal style. Unfortunately, the sound of the club didn't help them. Most of the time during their set, the sound wasn't clear enough to listen to their music. Another thing is that their sound had nothing in common with the night's headliners NIGHTRAGE. The band has potential and I have to listen to them again and have a second opinion, with a better sound. The only two things I can say for NORDOR are: i) judging the drumming of Fotis is blasphemy, and ii) Lordwinter has a really good voice. After forty minutes, it was time to see the headliners hitting the stage.

[Yiannis D.]: It was about 22:30 when the Swedish melodic Death Metal mongers grabbed their equipment to deliver a 90-minute set of pure NWOSDM holocaust. Even though their latest album was a slight disappointment for me (they are not AT THE GATES, but I have high requirements from such a good band), they wrecked the stage with a brand new line up. The only remaining member was Marios Iliopoulos (guitarist and founder of the band) and the rest of the guys were a bunch of incredible musicians that impressed every single person in the club with their talent and their great on stage performance. The band's new singer was something extraordinary, since his vocal abilities were a perfect match with his friendly and professional attitude. This guy is surely the frontman NIGHTRAGE needed after the departure of their former singer Tomas Lindberg and his recent substitute Jimmie Strimell. After two vocalists, the Swedish death metallers found the best guy for this job - in my humble opinion - and he proved that on stage with his harsh screaming, his melodic vocal lines and his constant chat with the audience. The band performed songs from all of their three albums and the crowd seemed to enjoy kick ass melodic Death Metal tunes like Being Nothing, The Tremor (my favorite NIGHTRAGE song and a hymn to Swedish Death Metal in my opinion), Hero, Scathing and Encircle. The audience was ecstatic filling the club's empty space with screams and mosh pit.

[Yiannis D.]: Instead of giving you a common and boring outro for this gig, what would you say for a mini interview with NIGHTRAGE mainman Marios Iliopoulos? Marios was incredibly friendly with us and he was more than willing to say a few things about the band's recent changes, their performance earlier that night and his slight disappointment at my review...

Hello Marios. Great fucking show man! Are you satisfied with your performance?

It was a great show. I believe we gave our best to satisfy the fans that attended the show. We enjoyed the show and I think that the audience enjoyed it, too!
What about the number of people that were in here tonight? Are you satisfied with the attendance?

Hmmm, I think that there could be at least 50-100 people more. Anyway, I can't complain. It was really nice...
Is there any chance we may see you come back soon?

It has been a while since I last visited Greece and I hope I can be back here soon! I miss Greece and it has always been my dream to play live here!
What about now? Are there any shows left?

Nope, this was the last one for now. We now return back home and we will prepare for the new album but we also search for promoters to schedule some live dates at the US.
Really? Tell us a few things about the new stuff...

The new album will be recorded at Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen. The new stuff will be a bit heavier and I believe that you will like it!
Hmmm, I hope so, since I was slightly disappointed with A New Disease Is Born. I think it was too Metalcore compared to your previous works.

I know. I read the review and it was definitely not the best we could have. I can not complain since it is your opinion and I respect that. I hope you like the new album!
I am damn sure that the new stuff will kick my ass just as Descent Into Chaos and Sweet Vengeance did. Enough said we should let you rest. Thank you for your time Marios! I wish you all the best!

It has been a pleasure guys! See ya next time around!
