Thursday, tough day for a live appearance. Weekdays are a bit tough because most people manage to get to the venue right after their daily jobs or have to work the next morning. On the contrary, this didn't seem to bother the approximately 400 deathsters that attended the Underworld Club that day to watch one of the most important Death Metal bands around, VADER. Nobody knew what was going to happen...
The concert was supposed to start at 8:30 pm. We were all patiently waiting outside the club for the doors to open. We were a bit disappointed to see VADER arrive at the club at 9:30 pm with all of their equipment! Do you know what that means? No soundcheck! What the fuck?
I will not waste my time and YOUR time to describe the most awful live I have ever attended! So, the concert started with a delay of 2-3 hours! INVERACITY didn't even have time to play and were forced to leave the club completely disappointed. Most of their fans were also disappointed for not having the pleasure to watch them perform on stage! I was one of them! I haven't seen this band live and it was my chance to do so!
Anyway, I tried to calm down and enjoy VADER's set. So, we entered the club and took our positions behind the sound engineer, where the sound is at least decent. The Polish deathsters got on stage and seemed to be ready for a night full of Death Metal holocaust! We were all ready to headbang until our heads fell off and the first note came out of the guitars. The sound was more than shitty! The drums were way too loud, the guitars were buried, the bass didn't even exist (in the sound) and the singer could hardly be heard. The drum kicks covered the guitars! I mean, for fuck's sake! I am damn sure that they didn't even bother to perform a soundcheck! In addition, before the first song, they started talking shit about how hard it was to get past the borders and that they were sorry for the delay. We don't fucking care, man! People paid 18 euros to watch you perform live! I heard many people yell fuck off and play and stuff like that. Anyway, what you have read up to now is nothing compared to what you are going to read! It was about their third or fourth song and someone got on stage to stagedive. When he jumped, he accidentally grabbed a pipe that was hanging from an air-condition. Guess what. The air-condition fell down! On the one hand I thought that somebody could have been hurt by this situation, and on the other hand, I was pissed off with VADER that finished the song and found the opportunity to leave the stage for five minutes! Respect someone who fucking paid you some bloody money for this show! Please, people! Wake up!
Even if VADER were in a great mood and performed every single song incredibly, the show was a failure for the aforementioned reasons. Don't tell me you want to know the setlist! I won't even bother commenting on anything more...
